I just came across this on eBay, don't recall ever seeing anything like this. I remember the crank style, Mom always had a couple of those in the kitchen.

The reciprocal action designed by Archimedes to power rudimentary irrigation pumps, works well in a glass or small vessel. Grandma used hers for mixing water and flour to thicken gravy. Mostly us kids played with it.
