wow, 219 posts here

I could never even try and compare to the awesome commitment that you all have to your record collections. Congrads.

I have like 2 albums and a broken turntable I got used. One of them is Anne Murry the other is Julie Brown. I would like to get that onto my MP3.

LOL

She has one song on there, I forget.... it was in the movie she was in. UM, UM, can't think. with .. (checking awesome internet)
"Earth Girls are Easy."

The song is played when "the gang" goes to the club.
It is something like (upbeat club music) "...I want a man who is stupid. ... but he just got out of jail..

here it is.

1. (actually at the beach) 'Cause I'm a Blond Lyrics
and Chords
Because I'm blond,ya YA ya, Cause I'm a Blonde, don't you wish you were me.
I don't have to think I talk like a baby,
and I never pay for drinks ...

and
2. TITLE: I Like Them Big and Stupid
Lyrics (played at the dance club)

When I need somethin' to help me unwind
I find a six foot baby with a one track mind
Smart guys are nowhere, they make demands
Give me a moron with talented hands
I go bar-hopping and they say last call
I start shopping for a Neanderthal

The bigger they come the harder I fall
In love 'til we're done then they're out in the hall

{Refrain}
I like 'em big and stupid
I like 'em big and real dumb
I like 'em big and stupid

What kind of guy does a lot for me
A Superman with a lobotomy
My fathers outa Harvard
My brothers outa Yale
But the guy I took home last night
Just got outa jail

The way he grabbed and threw me, ooh it really got me hot
But the way he growled and bit me, I hope he had his shots

The bigger they are the harder they'll work
I got a soft spot for a good lookin' jerk

{Refrain}

I met a guy, who drives a truck
He can't tell time but he sure can drive
I asked his name and he had to think
Could I have found the missing link
He's so stupid you know what he said
Well I forgot what he said, 'cause it was so stupid

The bigger they come the harder I fall
In love 'til we're done then they're out in the hall

{Refrain}

I like 'em big and real dumb
I like 'em big and ...

LOL !!! I love it. I got get that. LOL !

technics automatic changer

This is my technics direct drive automatic SL-500D, purchased in about 1985. I got it because it was among the last of the changers made. The single play spindle is on the turntable.

It has a Shure Ultra-Group Special Edition VST III-p cartridge, cost over $100.00 at the time just for the cartridge.

Magnavox

Here is a my cute Magnavox Blond table model. It is a tube model and plays quite well, with no repair on my part. The changer needs to be lubed, as it does not reject properly.

It is a 3 speed.

I need to get a lp needle for it also, the 78 needle plays, and I have used it for 33 1/3.

And the Selectomatic 100G

Here is my Select-o-Matic 100G Jukebox, by Seeburg. It is from 1953. I just had the capacitors replaced, and all of the mechanical units re-built. The speaker was re-coned, and a couple of tubes replaced. The case is entirely original, just cleaned up.

The title strips

I did not like the programs designed to print title strips. I found some original stock on e-bay, and printed out the strips on my computer. The red ink on the strips is original. They are slightly off, almost as if they are typed. All of my old strips were typed and I saved them. I purchased some new and some old but new to me 45's and so I needed to re-do all of the strips.

I have a wall-box for this unit, and I made two of each strip, so I can get it going too.

Nice stuff, bencix.

The Magnavox is in excellent condition, and the HF100G is very nice. Remote selection is a lot of fun.

I use the software that Always Jukin' magazine sells. It's not as good as it should be, but it has a lot of nice features. Plus, it can print on plain paper or on titlestrip stock.

These were printed on titlestrip stock. "Real" jukeboxes generally had an admixture of colors and styles, so I try to recreate that.

p.s. I sense a distinctly '60s family room. I have one of those myself.

Goddess in Progress

Oh yes I DO still have the copy I bought, and in mint condition.

Everybody Run. The Home-Coming Queen's got a gun!

I'm also real pleased this thread demonstrates that there are some folks who 'get' this whole idea of collecting and sharing music using these 'vinyl' discs.

Once you've heard one really work correctly, very little else can compare to the sound quality. Plus they're just fascinating to watch go around.

You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round like a record, baby.

and THAT'S the truth. thththth

Bendix48, I have that blonde Magnavox, I put the needle out of my big'65 Mag into mine, and it worked, but that was just me. Yours looks like a year or two newer than mine, but its 98% identical.

Title Strips

Select-o

I actually like the way you did your strips. The 100G has a light behind the strips, so you do need that stock that is heavier than printer paper.

I need to post a pix of the whole room, it was built in 1961, I believe, an addition to a 1946 ranch. Some of the stuff we have reflects that, other stuff is just comfortable.

For a while I had a Zenith record player at work, similar to the one that 63getelevision has, and it was sure fun to play albumns at work. That was worth many show and tells!

BTW, I got my Jukebox in 1973 for $50.00 including the wallbox. It had new needles, and was serviced, I got it from a Jukebox company. I just wish I had bought a hundred of them! It is in pretty good shape because I have always had it in my (various) homes. When I lived in San Francisco, I moved that baby 6 times, once in the trunk of my 1961 Cadillac, with the trunk lid removed.

Vinyl Junkie (again)

OK, here's a Seeburg USC1 (Bandshell) from 1970. It works and sounds great with plenty of volume. I replaced one of the woofers, replaced the program glass, cleaned & lubed the mech (it needed it badly), and replaced the two needles since purchasing it off of ebay last April. It's a work in progress. I eventually want to replace the title board glass, and the two glass sides. I have a replacement front glass, and am waiting for the white diffuser piece from A1 Jukebox.

More Seeburg

Here's my SS-160 from 1966. This box had the graphics glass replaced, cleaned, replaced the woofers, put in two new needles, replaced the tone arm wire (not a job to recommend to anyone)! I replaced the auto speed caps myself with a kit purchased from Jukebox Friday Night. It also kicks out some serious bass! So much so that I had to run new foam weather stripping on the doors and cabinet lid to keep it from rattling!
Enjoy! - Mike

And still more Seeburg.....

Here's my AY-160 juke from 1960. I've had this since 1973. It's currently going through some repairs and I need to finish this so it's back up and operating again! - Mike

Wurlitzer Statesman

Here's the Wurlitzer Statesman from 1969. I just purchased two new turntable belts and will be installing them shortly. Please excuse the clutter and mess. I know, I should be shot for using the juke as a storage counter! Too many projects going on at once, not enough time to get them done! Arrrgh! - Mike
