Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Rob Base

I had the 45 of that song. Very groovy and upbeat. Too bad Rob Base/DJ Easy Rock got in trouble for sampling "Think" by Lynn Collins.

At 1:24 is the sample from "It Takes Two"

P.S. Listen to the organ groove.

That's really neat Jason. I was looking for something to stick in this thread last night, and I thought of Rob Base, etc. Lynn Collins is really interesting. I'm going to check out that "turntable" gadget.

I think there is a turntable that actually connects to a computer, for around $100.00. This idea is more interesting, and probably more practical. I think possibly there were some of those turntables on your link. I hope any of them will be easy to get hold of.

What an awful (if cute) idea.

For a turntable to work well, you need mass and stability. Something that small wouldn't be able to maintain accurate speed, nor could it isolate the rumble and rattle from the fans and disk drives.

I'd imagine the sound would be nearly as bad as the sound in the video.

That's what I was saying. It will be more of a novelty than a real thing. It might have rubber anti-vibration mounts as well.

Still I would buy it. For the novelty.

OK, YOU GUYS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!...........

Come and get some of mine! Between Roanoke Robert and I, we have OVER 600 record players! Soem are at his house and some are in my warehouse....PLEASE COME AND GET THEM!!!!!Mark PS PLEASE don't ask for photos as it would take forever and I just don't have the time right now and don't want to waste Robert's space on here.

waste of space?

ok now I feel really bad.

I THOUGHT it was a good thing that we could keep some kind of positively spun thread going longer than any other - like a disaster thread or a bitch and moan thread, but I have noticed a lack of participation from our leader - not even a single comment - so maybe this has been a total waste of band width and completely without merit.

Sorry to have prolonged the misery for so long.

There there there, gentlemen!!! ;

This thread ain't a-goin anywhere. I don't think Marks
post meant that the thread in and of itself was a waste of
band width; I think he was just saying that this wouldn't be the right venue for him to do a for sale /things availble
post much less with pictures. I think he meant that he wanted the last three posters (this would be # 3!!!) to come with trucks and take all of those pesky units away. As for Roberts
lack of participation he is no doubt busy in many ways and like the rest of his fellow citizens still experiencing the
the shock of the bridge collapse. Now then, I have been caught
in the vortex of a medium to severe family health crisis and regular programing will resume shortly.

In my dance studio,

I use this smart little V-M tri-o-speed model 155
to rehearse my fan dancing routine. Any minute now,
I expect the bookings to come rushing in for the 2008
season of Gay Freedom Day Celebrations. I'm sure this is the year I will go "international"

I like that manual version of the popular automatic VM. I had a 1955 version of the automatic in a Zenith portable I left at a house that was being cleared after the friend that was holding it died.

VM-155

Frontal, that's the big brother to my VM Playtime. Very similar lift up 45 spindle which also has the Lp spindle molded into the same piece, and gray flocking on the turntable.

That one is unusual in that although it's nearly as big as a changer, it's a manual turntable. I'm sure it's very reliable and has good sound.

Neat machine. I've always wanted one like that.
Thanks for sharing, and for the encouraging words.

Keep 'em turning, boys & girls.

I really wish I had more to show but all I have right now is the little Maggie.

This is NOT a waste of bandwidth, keep the vinyl and record player pics coming. This should be a whole forum all to itself.

If you hadn't seen my link, Jason, I just bought a beige model of your set from San Antonio, and I had originally wanted the one without the radio! Others will find you, patience is the key.

I didn't realize there were so many vinal lovers on here

I've got around a thousand or so 33s/45s/78s/16s and ~7 turntables. It's so much fun to just listen to the classics the way they are "meant" to sound. Nothing against MP3s or CDs, but give me an old vinal any day.

One of my favorite things to do is put on my late 50's magnavox stereo portable and put on Kay Starr, Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Bread, etc. Man, I think I'll go put on on now. Take care fellas...

That is a beautiful piece

That would look really nice in my living room. It's a shame the price tag is so much. Who would have thought a console would sell for that much? There are about 10 I can think of in local thift/junk shops that I can think of, including that Emerson I posted about. I'll post pics, next time I have a chance.

Also, I may post one of my portable, I'd like to find out more info on it. I have never seen another like it. Maybe I'll post some of ther rest, while I'm at it... Just got to get this move finished!

Remember Classic- this man is THE Magnavox Collector. I mean that in a nice way. His collection of Magnavox makes mine look like sewer rejects. There are actually some people that buy them, but he goes down somewhat in pricing. And his units are fully functioning. I would pay only up to $300.00 for a fully functioning armoire combo or console combo.
