Ariel Actilift

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think it's more a case of Tesco hiking the price up to over £8 to be honest. They had Fairy Gel at a similar price, then cut it to around £7. Morrisons still sell the large bottles of Excel Gel for £6.79, so someone somewhere is taking the piss! I stocked up at Sainsbury's whilst they are £4!

I noticed Tesco have also put Persil Small & Mighty 20 wash bottles up to £4.18 while they are still just under £4 elsewhere. "Every Little Helps" LOL!

Finally

I managed to find some Excel Gel with Actilift in my local Tesco last night. I'll give it a whirl when I've got something mucky enough to test it properly.

They didn't have any powder, liquitab or tablet versions of it in yet.

Well, managed to get my hands on some Actilift powder and Gel today. Did a load of whites with the powder, not as sudsy in the wash as normal Ariel....still a lot of suds in the 1st rinse but they seem to disappear by the second. The load wasn't heavily soiled but things did appear a bit whiter and seemed softer than usual.

Just doing a load of lights with the gel....again less sudsy in the wash and rinse and the gel doesn't seem to have as much perfume.

I bought some the other day in Asda, let out a screech of excitement when I saw it, embarassing my 16 yo brother in the process lol. Smells different, a fresher smell, and doesn't suds at all - both for the powder and Gels. First rinse was crystal clear. The previous variant of powder wasn't *too* bad for rinsing, though would still suds in the first rinse, but it is especially a difference for the gel which would suds to the high heavens before. They've tweaked the smell of the Gel too - to my nose it's more like the old liquid, not quite, but more like.

I can't spot any difference in the scent of the Gel.

Oh, I also noticed today that Bounce dryer sheets have now been rebranded as Lenor.

I smelt both the old bottle and the new bottle side by side, and the newer bottle definitely has a slight hint of the older scent. Only noticeable if you smell them side by side, but the difference is there.

Complete change in the rinsing performance though - definitely less sudsy.

Not paid attention to Bounce for a while... have Lenor still kept the Bounce fragrances, or have they changed them to Spring Awakening, Sleep sensations etc?

Jon

Well I'm yet to try mine, still have a couple of bottles of the "old" stuff to get through. I can't honestly see how they can improve the cleaning performance though, they'd kind of nailed it already!

The Lenor sheets I saw were just Summer Breeze, which I think was also the name of the Bounce scent anyway?

Nope - they have had the best cleaning performance easily for a while. We're using Ariel colour again after mum buying 4 boxes of Persil colour tabs on offer - can certainly notice the difference as far as cleaning performance is concerned, even though PErsil did a pretty decent job.

Yeah - I remember there being spring and summer bounce. I imagine it's just part and parcel of them streamlining the brands. I've noticed that the Infusions Bold seems to be being put on the back burner after all that advertising - Asda/Sainsburys only sell the Ruby Jasmine version now, the other 2 Infusions have all but disappeared.
