Bad News

So, I just got this new(used) washer, it's a dependable care that I just picked up from a used dealer and it comes with a 5 month warranty and I might have to use it already. Maybe im crazy but The agitation seems really weak and I'm wondering if it's the splines, transmission, or motor. Take a look at the video and tell me what you think.

To me, that speed is more like the gentle agitation speed for Dependable Care washers.

Doesn't look like there is anything wrong with it to me. That's the way mine worked when I had it. You can adjust the water level to fill quite a bit fuller on the top level. Other than that and maybe not loading it too tightly when using it, it looks good. The set I had was similar and worked really well for me and now does for someone else. If this agitation seems weak to you, you should see how the new HE top loaders work!!! This one is great in comparison!

It's fine

I used that same machine for 17 years and that's the way mine agitated from day one .

Rollover is slow because it is overloaded. Before starting the water fill, drop clothes in. Never push them down or rearrange them. When they reach the level of the top row of holes, you have a full load. That's what the original instructions advised.

I can guarantee you that underneath the water the fins are oscillating back and forth very rapidly, just like the pre-dual action agitator in the other video. That's where all the cleaning takes place.

Change the agitator out for a non ratcheting dual action one if you wish to.
The plastic dogs on the ratcheter can wear, and then it will slip.
It is doing what it was designed to do. It pushes the clothes lower into the water.
Extra roll over supposedly.

Lighting is dark in the video and the clip is short but I don't think it's overloaded.

The 8714 clip above is underloaded IMO.

As HelicalDrive explains, the oscillation of the upper spiral part of the agitator is not an indication of or related to how the base fins are moving under the water.

It has strong ratchet "contact, for lack of the correct term,  at low water levels and no clothing to create friction the top post sometimes simply oscilates back and forth with the agitator base and fins.  I had two of these from craigslist the agitator softner dispenser may have "load sensor"  stamped on it.  The one I gave my brother had "Quad care"?  stamped on it.   He killed his already.  They are rural / farm and wash tons of heavy insulated clothing.   For  suburban  people your machine should last for years.  Your "load sensor" agitator looks like it is working correctly to me.   A

Awesome, thanks for all the responses and helping calm my newbie/new buyer fears. I was wondering if it was okay because the clothes came out pretty clean and in the second video, albeit being short to upload quicker, it looks like the agitation is alot quicker, especially at the base.

I also probably had more clothes in there than normal because I had been saving up from avoiding the laundromat
