Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Tha Video was amazing.

I'm fascinated with the Beads. What a great idea to aid in cleaning. Galvanized Impeller makes wicked sense.

So once the machine is charged with the beads, They stay in the sump with water ?

And BobLoad beyond. Did a great Job.

Commercially there is a machine to polish Silverware, Service, and pieces called a Burnisher. It uses a hopper with beads and vibrates to remove the tarnish.

Packed Maytag Load

Hi all.
So. I have moved. The KA is at the old house. And I have inherited a Maytag MDB8949SHZ4.
It’s a few years old with the physical push buttons. And pocket door.
It had a rough life! But it’s been salvaged.
Some IDIOT previous owner must’ve washed planter pots in it.
It was FULL of mud, twigs, stems and flower petals.
After pulling the module apart, and a handful of washes with Finish dw cleaner, and bleach, she’s finally feeling like her old self again.

So I’ve been washing a combo of daily dishware and unpacked items to clean.
And last night I packed this sucker!
Auto cycle. Cascade PureClean pac.
Everything came out great! All clean and fresh.

* Bonus points for those who see anything “different.” ;)

Saturday night BobLoad:

Living in the wake of likely shortages of some fresh items I did a test tonight to see how well I could make Spaghetti and meatballs with a jar sauce produced by a local restaurant, frozen Italian Meatballs and chef improve it some.  I would normally make these items from scratch.  The result was not too bad but I could smell TVP when the meatballs were heating in the sauce.  The taste was good, "Could barely taste TVP".  Anyway, I ended up with enough dishes for a BobLoad over the course of the day and here it is.

That sphere system washing was very cool to watch - what a beautiful machine as well.

This is a load from last weekend, did a bunch of baking and then dinner.  Made banana bread, frosted banana cookies and an apple cobbler.  This was the last of three loads for the day.

Lakewebsterkid - Cascade Platinum

I like them a lot. I haven't used the regular pacs in several years. But these do an outstanding job especially, on my stainless steel All-Clad pots and pans. It makes them look like I scoured them by hand. I do have a container of Cascade Complete pods which I am going to use when I finish up the Platinum pacs I'm currently on. I'd like to see if there is any appreciable difference in performance.

I know y'all think this is WAYYY overdue

But, a load from this morning that was largely from yesterday and lat night's dinner.  I don't have the ability to upload pics I take from my phone and with DadoEs' (Glenn's) help, here they are!!

I was thinking about Jetcone as I was preparing to load all this stuff.  At a Wash-in in Tucson he & I were attendidng at the same time between 2006-2008 (I don't think it was in Omaha in 2005), Jon made a comment-watching Bob load a dishwasher is like watching oragame.  Under the mixer bowl are a bunch of saucers.  Under the Instant Pot orange sling are tongs, large service spoons, various other things and the beater to the mixer from last nights mashed potatoes.  For anyone who might find this trivia interesting, all those white dishes, flatware, and corningware date all the way back to the 1959/1960 Waste King and all the way through every college apartment dishwasher and every apartment and house dishwasher I've been in since fall 1977.

I think the above is a wimpy case of BobLoad.  So, to show y'all I do load my own dishwasher this way when the opportunity avails itself.  Thank you Glenn.

Fell asleep early.,.

After my first coffee and here are the results ...

Spotless. One BJs pack. And 2 teaspoons of boil out. I usually shut it down after the last rinse and do a flash dry. But everything is nice and dry this morning with no heat

More head spinning, Ed!

Here is a shot of another wash arm swap-out. I took out the 4 way Hydrosweep arm from my KA tall tub years ago and have not looked back since. The Kenwhirl Thunderbolt wash arm works so much better than the Hydrosweep.

It is quieter and is about an inch longer so it reaches into the corners and the silverware basket much better than the Hydrosweep arm does. In the beginning, the silverware would always have food bits stuck on it. The longer arm has jets at the very end which sweep underneath the whole basket which is on the right side of the rack and not the door.

Like I said, I have never looked back.

Dishwasher Wash Arm Design

Hi Steve, I agree about the KM-WP wash arm working better in WP TT DWs.

WP has never had a bad WAD in any of their DWs since their first WA DW in 1958, the big black bakelite arm.

WP arms were designed to work not impress potential buyers, GE, MT, Waste-King, WCI FD and later Electrolux DWs all ad some poorly designed wash arms.
