Bought a bag of Foca... how much to use?

I happened to see bags of Foca laundry detergent today at walmart (phosphate free.. sorry) and I tried it on a mixed load of mostly new clothes (that I had just got from walmart) and some normally soiled T shirts and shorts. It says on the bag to use 1/2 cup for a load but I only used a little over 1/3 of a cup in our Frigidaire gallery front loader (normal cycle, cold wash, cold rinse) and the clothes came out nice and clean, but there was almost no scent left (the detergent smelled really nice in the bag) I dried them with 3 great value dryer sheets (paradise fresh scent) (they also smelled nice in the box and had very little scent after they finished) I did notice a lot of suds especially in the second rinse. Am I using too much detergent? I have been using Awesome detergent from the dollar store and it works fairly well for $1 for a 32 load bottle. What is your opinion of the Foca (or the Awesome detergent for that matter) I was going to get a small box of Tide but all they had was 80 loads. I have used the Sears ultra plus and it made .the clothes really stiff and scratchy so i gave away most of it.

You might try 1/4 cup. Thats the amount I normally used when I used the phosphate formula Foca in my twin tub. Any more and the suds would climb over the top and down the sides onto the floor, lol.

As for the Awesome, I haven't tried the regular detergent, but the wool wash is VERY high sudsing. The cleaning power is ok, but it seemed a bit too stout to use on wool or cashmere. I stick with woolite for those fabrics.

Ok I will try 1/4 cup. The awesome regular detergent is a lot lower sudsing than the wool wash but still works well. lol I found out the hard way how high sudsing the wool wash really is. I was told by a friend that the wool wash works better as a regular detergent than the detergent does, so since I had been using the regular detergent and I just use a capful per load. I dumped in a capful of the wool wash and had a washer full of suds and sudslocked it twice going into the rinses. I now use much less... it seemed to do about the same but with much more suds than the regular.

We use only 100mL in our Whirlpool top loader. It provides a nice layer of suds with clear rinse water on the second rinse.

100mL = about 4.0 oz.

FOCA has very nice rinsability.
