I think that once the bidding starts, there's a chance it can go higher than the BIN.  I'm not an eBay expert though, and have no sense for any bidding strategies that may exist.  I agree that it's possible the item could be won for considerably less than the BIN price, but have found that quite often nobody starts bidding until the last day or so.

 

If I were in the market for panels, I'd put this on my "Watch List" and see what happens as the auction winds down.  I'm going to watch this one to see how it goes, and to be alerted when/if the item doesn't sell and is re-listed.

ALMOST NEW ISE DW

Great find this is not only a great performing DW that you should be able to keep it running for the next 20 years or more depending on how much you use it.

 

If after installing the SS door panels the door feels heavier the door springs are adjustable on these DWs by moving the lower attachment point for the DSs up for less or down for more tension. You can also buy Heavy Duty DSs for these DWs if you want to install heavy custom panels.

Water Usage

Following the KitchenAid 20 or 21 series, the amount of rinsing this machine did was cut back rather drastically. Perhaps 2-3 rinses in total for a complete cycle.

 

On this machine, I think the progression is the following (You can always check manuals for the equivalent KA machine through KA's website. The model is KUDS22/23): This it the Normal cycle. Soak/Scrub has an Extra Pre-Wash/Rinse phase

Pre-Wash (Heating Delay, 140ºF) -> Main-Wash (Heating element energised on LOW power) -> Purge -> Rinse (Heating 140ºF?)

 

It has been noted here the Purge rinse cleans the filter. Problem is, the final rinse isn't enough and will end up causing the vinyl/nylon cushion from the racks to come off, causing rust issues. Some members chuck in the extra water, or adjust the fill valve to get an extra full rinse. Someone else can advise you on that matter...

I'm pretty sure the last models to have a heating delay were series 20. 

 

Here's how it goes with my Classic Supreme, which is a KA series 22 clone, on the "Normal" cycle:

 

Pre-wash/Purge/Rinse/Main Wash/Purge/Rinse/Dry

 

The only difference when set for "Pots/Pans" is an extra rinse between the pre-wash and purge.

 

The ISE machines do not offer a "Soak & Scrub" option or a "Sani-Rinse."  I think those can only be found on a KitchenAid Superba.

 

I had a KUDI-21 for 18 years and never had any rust issues due to a single final rinse.

Odd that you haven't had the rust issues others on here have described. But I do know (via KA literature posted here, advertising 23 series machines) they still had "Sure-Temp" in the 23 series. Although, I think you could turn it off on the Selectra models, to save time if you already had piping hot water to boot. 

 

Although, after the 20 series, they may have ditched the "Fill, stop:heat to 140º and Circulate" idea, replacing it with "Fill, Circulate AND Heat to 140º, pausing the timer." Again, I'm not entirely sure, but thats what I've gathered from digging through the archives recently, after being curious regarding the rinses and water heating delays

Soak/Scrub has three heating delays. The first soak/scrub phase heats twice to 140°F. The 2nd (prewash) also heats to 140°F.

Normal heats the prewash to 140°F.

You've got yourself a real low-mileage machine there, for low price too? This is as good as it gets. Hope you get many happy loads of dishes from this perky (Good Looker) ISE Classic Supreme. Don't be afraid to throw some soils in: This thing has self-cleaning filters and at least a soft-food grinder (Or hard-food: I can't remember what the PowerClean modules used)

First order of business before installing is to dump some hot water into the sump area to check for leaks.  While leaks are unlikely since this machine is virtually brand new, it has sat idle so much of the time that the seal could need the hot water treatment to soften it up.

 

When cleaning the exterior, be careful with the selector buttons.  The blue and gray paint comes off of them rather easily.

You should get at least 20 years of trouble-free service from this machine.

 

I noticed the set of stainless panels on eBay went for the opening price of 29.95.  Did you win them?  That was a steal for whomever did.

When you contact the Seller you can simply ask her if she has any more and she will
Tell you how much she has remaining.

She was very pleasant to deal with, and she had actually used the final bidding war price in the 2nd auction for the BIN in all the following auctions, the 1st auction finished a couple dollars more in fact.

If I get a chance today I could postup the KA assembly instructions that come in the package with the 2 panels she sent me.

1st bidding war vet

sometimes being first on Ebay can Bite you when AFTER the auction you find out there are LOTS more where that came from, so I decided to share...a couple other members got a good deal too, they are just being shy..LOL

maybe a LOT later i may bid on a spare to keep just in case a KDS-18 pops up, it's not a priority right now as I'm still fine tuning the KDS-19
