There is a whirlpool Cabrio at a salon I clean( don't have the model number right now) that is around 4 or 5 years old. For awhile it has not been filling by sensing but rather a higher default level.
This morning on the super wash cycle it was making some different sounds rhythmically. Opened it up to find small mildew specks all over the balance ring and junk in the water. From what I can see peeking through the inch of lid I can raise, the impeller was going in one direction, tub movement was erratic, water was splashing up. Thought it may be trying to spin and wash at the same time but I think with the water rotating in one direction, when you hit stop the water causes the tub to turn and had to wait for it to stop before the lid would unlock. But it didn't do it on a regular cycle or the bulky cycle. Tried the super wash again after the other two, same thing. The mold issue I figured it knocked it loose then splashed it up. I know there is mildew growing around the balance rings and tub. I've run bleach through the clean washer cycle and have poured the solution over the balance ring in the past. They only wash in cold but the hot is not even Luke warm. So what could be causing the erratic wash motions? I can't remember what it was, but a few weeks ago it acted weird on a drain and spin cycle. But it only did it once so just thought it was a fluke. Figure it's time is limited and will suggest she get a speed queen. I'll post the model number tomorrow when I go up. Might can get a little video through the crack.
