Can you still buy these?

Found this in an old stash of detergents. I remember using them in the early 2000's.
Smelled nice and were rather sudsy.

No, you can't

After being launched to much great noise, one by one all the tablet detergents again quickly vanished. Wisk, Tide, Purex, all went within months of each other it seems. Purex was the last holdout IIRC.

You can still find NOS of all three here and there including on eBay.

The timing was unfortunate. Most of these were HE products, but they did not dissolve in the dispenser drawer during the brief fills and, if added to the drum, banged and thumped around for what seemed like most of the wash period because the very low water level was not conducive to rapid dissolving. I would smush up one for the load I was washing and add it to the dispenser drawer, but in HE machines, they could not be used as tablets.

Surf was also available as tablets.

I'm lucky enough to have some of the Tide Rapid Action Tabs in my stash along with Wisk Tabs and a bunch of different Persil Tabs....I think Persil still makes Tabs. I would love to get ahold of more of the discontinued detergent Tabs. They can be found on ebay but few and far between. Cheryl

The old Wisk tablets I have are disintegrating back to powder form inside the plastic wrappers.

All you have to do is keep them around for 15 years!

I have a small stash of Surf, Wisk and Purex tabs - probably three boxes of each. The Surf and Wisk tabs will turn to powder as soon as I touch the package but the Purex still is solid - I thought all did a very nice job of cleaning and stain removal and there was no problem dissolving in a top loader. Also, all were almost suds free - with the best fragrance coming from the Surf "spring burst" tabs.

Never cared much for the Tide tabs - I found the scent kind of obnoxious. But they were fun to watch dissolve - they were like "Fizzies" for the laundry...
