Hello all, in recent times I’ve tried most of the cascade pacs. I’m more of a gel and powder type, I always use the Cascade Complete with OXI gel which is non chlorinated and for you scent freaks like me it smells like a very strong mountain breeze with a twist of citrus, it’s a bright ocean blue gel, and it’s absolutely delicious smelling and works so very well. Cleans and shines without sudsing at all really. But today they didn’t have any gel at my store so I wanted to try these, and oh goodness they smell absolutely incredible and remind me of when I used these in my newer Maytag jetclean and vintage hotpoint several years ago. These are the lemon ones, and actually a month or so ago I bought the original platinum in a small pack to try out, and it didn’t over suds at all. For context I own a Whirlpool powerclean in my new place, so of course it’s going to cause sudsing with most pacs. But as said, last few times I purchased these pacs they didn’t foam too much. This time they are extremely sudsy in my dishwasher during the wash, and I’m concerned it could spill out the front at some point if I’m not around it. I found a trick that actually works to help de-suds the wash cycle, just add some cascade complete gel and start it back up and it should immediately clear most of the suds. I always have a bottle of it on hand under my sink, but there are many other remedies as well than just that. Just found it interesting.
When the dishwasher starts to get real foamy, just out of curiosity, does it make the motor have to work harder? Is it a bad thing for it to get real sudsy just during the main wash? Let me know if this happens to you with a modern machine, since mine is a late 90s design. But I’m just wondering because if it can affect the longevity of my machine I’ll have to not use this detergent.
