Not sure of the model number - I've only ever seen ads and sales literature for the Filter-Flo dishwashers. They must have had some kind of recirculation pump that kept enough water in the tub bottom for the impeller to pick up and spread...

It's the Golden Anniversary Line Model SU400!

It's from 1960 and IIRC the only one with the hidden dial under the Plate Warmer switch. It should also have the Power Shower, the two accessory cup racks and the Rinse Glo dispenser. It would be a perfect addition to your new gorgeous turquoise kitchen. En guard, if you don't get it, I will.

I knew I had seen an ad for this dishwasher before! I swear it was in an old Life Magazine that we had when I was a brat. A power shower on the top lid would make this the ultimate impeller-wash dishwasher...
Three days to go on the auction! I have put in an offer for just the dishwasher if the lot do not get sold; that would of course be subject to the seller's approval, though. I am keeping my fingers crossed nonetheless!!

Auction's over - no one bid so...

I got an email from the auction house saying the owner is willing to sell me this dishwasher! Before I start worrying about where hubby will put my remains I wanted to at least get a shipping estimate on this one. I've emailed Jim Hill who has been recommended by a few members and since this item is in Michigan, he may be able to help me out. I have also let the auction house know that I want to see what kind of condition the dishwasher is in AFTER it is removed. I don't want to wind up with a a machine like my poor, sad 59 GE Princess with a cut frame and no tub lid!!
If I can't complete this deal, if anyone else is seriously interested, let me know and I will send you the auction house contact person's email.
And SSSSH ! I'm not telling hubby anything about this one yet...

Hello.

If you don't want this for any reason, please let me know. I didn't bid on the lot because you saw it first, but I was sorely tempted. Contact me at [email protected], but I still think that turquoise beauty belongs in that spectacular new kitchen of yours. If you do get it, I want Norma Desmond style closeups from every angle.

Still working on it!

The people who had comissioned the auction house to sell the appliances had initially agreed to sell off just the dishwasher if there had been no bids on the lot; the person I have been in contact with from the auction house had a buyer lined up for just the refrigerator also. On Friday, I got an email from the auction person saying the owners were now resisting the idea of breaking up the set! AAAARGH!
The auction company guy is still working on them - hey it's in his best interest, too!
Sooooo, we shall have to wait and see... If it winds up dragging, I might be tempted to head down there in person and throw a hissy in front of the owners, if it would help!!
I really want to get my mitts on this one!!!
