All through my childhood, both in print and on television, Cheer ads avoided showing details that would make identification of the washing machine possible.

This is probably my favourite washing powder advert, but only because we had that machine at the time.



In fact it was also featured in this later ad.

Ah, but in the second of the two commercials in this thread, (1965), the announcer clearly states that it's a General Electric washer.

Glenn— I recall Cheer ads that used the catchphrase “All temp-a-Cheer” but have never seen this one before. Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I specifically pointed out the ads from my childhood in the early 50s.

Am I missing something? The second ad does mention a GE washer (like we couldn't tell from the actual machine itself!!), but the ad was for Tide, not Cheer. So the original post commenting on Cheer ads not showing the actual brand of machine seems correct. Again, though if you were astute you could figure it out...
