"We have a Maytag cloths washer and a Kenmore cloths dryer that are in good working condition.
We will sell both of them for $350, or individually for $200 each. Purchaser will have to furnish
his own transportation to haul them away. Call HILDA at 336...... Cash only. Due to the
light when the pictures were taken, in one they look cream colored and in the other they look white.
They are white as shown in the white picture. "

Excellent dryer except it is older than Wrinkle Guard

When it was in my kitchen, that was not a problem, but when I moved and it was in my basement, it was easy to miss the end of the cycle.

I had that dryer for a time and it was later in the museum collection. It was the fastest electric dryer I had ever used because the SoftHeat only cycled the larger heating element during the drying, keeping the lower wattage element on so the temperature did not have to drop the usual 20 degrees or more before the old, heavy metal disc thermostat reset and cycled the heat back on. Today's dryers use thermisters so the response can be measured in seconds instead of minutes. The electric SoftHeat worked out because when the clothes approached the point where the electronic control went into cooldown, the dryer was only operating on the lower wattage element so the heat input was low.

This match all design was so popular that Sears had a matching washer and dryer model with this style of control panel except it was thicker. The dryer's styling makes that Highlander look almost antediluvian.

I do wonder how they determined that these two very old machines were worth that price.
