Did anyone see this episode - my Tivo picked it up for me...had some really interesting info on it - and great shots of vintage detergent...especially Tide of course and how it changed the world, etc. They said that people would cross state lines when it was first introduced to buy some.

I was a "test market" baby for Pampers...my folks lived in suburban St. Louis, then moved when I was about 9 months old to Kansas City. Pampers were being tested in St. Louis (their very first market was Peoria, IL) and were unavailable in Kansas City. My mom sent my dad to the store when he went back to St. Louis for business to stock up.

I miss the original Pampers logo...the new one looks like a toy logo or something. Not into diapers, but into design. :)

I hate the throw away diapers because they are showing up in parking lots like Walmart/Costco and many streets and sidewalks. They are also using up lots of space in landfills. Are we that lazy that we can't soak and wash cloth diapers???? I wonder how many chemicals these paper/plastic diapers seep into our children's skin????
