I decided to take all my pictures and videos I took at the museum last Saturday and turn them into my first Youtube production...let me know what you all think....PAT COFFEY

Hey Todd...Glad you liked the video

Actually what I did was I laid down the music first and then I added the photographs and videos trimming them to fit as I went along. Then the last touch was adding all the graphics. Using Final Cut Pro is not as hard as some people think it is and I am hoping to start a business editing video for money in the not to distant future. As for the RCA Whirlpool Surgilator Filter...if I am not mistaken John said it did a fairly good job of collecting lint....PAT COFFEY

Thanks for the compliments Kevin and Louie

and Louie it was a blast meeting you. I hope I get the privilege of doing that again soon. To answer your question Kevin I have the TOL iMac with the 27 inch screen and the i7 processor. I use Final Cut Pro 7 which I bought off of E-Bay because my editing teacher at channel 10 said to stay away from the newest version of Final Cut Pro because Apple F'ed it up. I would have had this video up on Youtube sooner but it took me a while to figure out how to be able to change the compression ratio on youtube so that the graphics should not come out looking so grainy. Speaking of videos I saw your new one for your up coming wash in Kevin and I too am impressed. Do you use FInal Cut as well? How long have you been editing?.....PAT COFFEY
P.S The name Coffey Grounds Productions comes from the 2 signs that my family used to have. One hung over our front door at the family home here in Vienna and the other hung above the door to the upper porch at our cottage at Deep Creek Lake Maryland. The signs designated each house as being the Coffey Grounds.

We did indeed Bud

and maybe someday we will have the pleasure of seeing you at one of John and Jeff's get togethers...believe me when I tell you it would be worth the trip for you to come....PAT COFFEY

Last Weekends Wash-In Party

WOW Pat you have been busy, Many thanks for putting all that together, You can be the official East Coast Production Co. at all our get together s, Thanks.

Hi Todd the WP agitator mounted lint filter was sold for the people that either bought a BOL 60s machine or for the early 50s machines where no filter was available. I played with this many years ago and it was VERY EFFECTIVE, you can adjust the height of the filter on the agitator so the filter area is just above the washers water level. The filter assembly has huge pumping vanes that lift GALLONS of water through the screen where the lint is capatured and held. It is far more effective that the Norge, solid tub Hotpoint, Kelvinator and would give a GE FF a good run for the money. The only bad thing is that it does take up some room in the tub, so it may slightly reduce capacity.

When I get finished restoring my 1950 Whirlpool pair I will have to do some demonstrations with it on the red Bakelite agitator this washer has.

Wonderful.....I wondered why you weren't posting pics and videos after all you have taken....

maybe during the late Summer we'll make another get together......it was a total blast from the time we got there to the time we left....so much excitement and good times with great people.....you cannot describe....

Washin!

Hi John - I am Happy I got to see the lg capacity kenmore at work as well as the filter for the WP. I never saw a westy condenser dryer, and I was wondering if it was like the maytag and or the hotpoint? It did look real interesting. I am happy you guys had a great time.
Thanks for the info
Peter

Pat -

Your video is exceptional, THANK YOU for preparing it!

I've been waiting on the Hotpoint - first non-WP washer for me that I want to keep. One knob wonders are just too cool...

Also, thanks A LOT for shots of the 518 in action. I've never seen that agitator push water before, so that was very cool to see.

I enjoyed it, thanks again Pat.

Gordon

You should indeed go into business.

It was perfect, except that I've enjoyed the "PAT COFFEY" sign off for years and was hoping to see the face to match the name.

I have never seen that version of the Kenmore 3 vane agitator. It is so unique and unusual that during its second appearance when the tub is free of clothes, showing the currents in all their glory, I thought I was seeing a totally different machine and agitator. Amazing transformation--with and without!

I keep coming back to the 518 video -- can't get over that machine. Just amazing water movement.

We can really see the tall agitator shaft that these machines used, but only up to some time in 1973. The next generation of machines had the same basket capacity, but the agitator shafts were shorter (to match the standard capacity). The two new agitators, the Penta-Vane and Penta-Swirl, rise only about 2/3 to 3/4 of an inch above full-tub water level.

The 518's shaft goes all the way up to the start of the agitator cap - considerably taller.

Cool!
