That's exactly what I used anytime I felt something coming on and it works, but back when I was a little more active and fit, I would drink a couple gallons of OJ, per day....remember, I was active (burned up 7000 calories a day). That said, it pays to be in shape, as exercise is nature's vacuum for your body and helps to defend colds, flu, etc. better. Everyone has a different set of working solutions, as I think it's hard to identify what works best for each of us.
For symptomatic relief, I use Nyquil, Robitussin D where needed, and liquids, as you all mentioned above.
Soups - clear chicken broth or won-ton are excellent, too.
I would be very hesitant to use the Silver Sol. Those who reported having great results still took risks, imho.
