I moved to an apartment with no washer. I looked at portables and decided to buy a Haier. This week I tried to order it, Target and Home Depot for $299.00. Both said they were out of stock. Then then next day they were priced at 419.00 at Target and still out at Home Depot.

I tried to buy a portable set of whirlpools off Craigslist, but the seller wouldn't respond.

Today I bought an Equator Combo for $100.00, used. I am removing the vanity and building it in next to the sink, using the existing plumbing. I have lots of room to hang and I can refluff items in the dryer in smaller batches.

I'll post the glam shots after I'm done.

Excelent Kelly. I had a similar one years ago. They are small but do a nice job. You will be hearing it run (as well as the sweet sound of running water) quite a bit!

Mine was a 110v jobbie. It vented into the room by way of two one-inch openings in the back.

When I got tired of the lint and constant dusting I went back to the laundromat.

My apt had 30a 110v electrical service. This unit draws, IIRC 16a or nearly 20a. The W/D, the TV a light and the ref. were the limit. No A/C when it was on! Te he he he. Those were the days!

Best of luck Kelly. Kkeep us in the (contaceptive)loop!

I prefer the sponge, it's so much easier to swallow!

It is the baby 24 inch combo. I was planning on building it into the vanity in the bathroom. This one is 110, and it vents down the drain. Then when I got home, it had a caster conversion kit and a a quick conntect coupler, so I'll try the roll around and see how it works.

Greg,
The frying pan is in the picture for your first right of refusal.

The First Time

I connected my Equater and washed a load of nicer, permanent press items. It is very quiet, washed well and dried the load in 30 minutes. The clothes were hot to touch and felt damp. I hung the pants and sweaters and laid the other items on a wooden clothes rack. They were dry in just minutes.

More Loads

I spent more time washing today. It is amazing how little water the washer uses. It is really quiet. I was using Percil, which is a high sudser and tried the fabric softener trick for killing the suds. It was amazing to see it go from a complete suds lock with soap coming ouf the dispenser to just a few bubbles as the laundry happily sloshed.
I did the first load, last night at 7:00pm. I am sure the neighbors below me thought we were having an earthquake. I had used the permanent press cycle last night. This morning I ran the regular setting. It spins for awhile after the final rinse and then slows. I thought the drying cycle was beginning and then it kicked into the spin again and went turbo wild. The white load ran for 20 minutes on dry and then I pulled them out to wash another load. They dried in a bout an hour, on the clothes rack.
This is more fun than Logo!

Equator

I had a Equator very simular to the one above, and I liked it a lot. I was foolish to give it up and buy a LG Tromm combo. What a mistake it was with all the service issues. I currently have another post going about it.
Best Of Luck with a Great unit
Peter
