1975-6 LKM Dryer
I have had this dryer in Gas for nearly 25 years as my #1 daily driver. This was the first completely computer controlled dryer that WP built, no timer even for the two and a half hour Wrinkle Guard cycle. I absolutely love this dryer, you can put load after load in it and just touch the start button [ no tedious dials to set ], the dryer gives you the option of using the Wrinkle Guard feature or not and there is a lower heat setting that I use when I dry rubber backed rugs.
The red light reminds you to clean the lint filter and the orange light is labeled Finishing, it comes on when the computer switches off the heat to indicate that the dryer is cooling down. The length of time that the cool down runs is determined by how long it took the computer to reach the selected dryness, it varies from about 3 minutes to more than 10 minutes. WP introduced the same technology in their TOL dryer in 1977 as an Imperial Mark 12 machine model # LFA9800, I have also have a gas one of these on my screened porch for over 10 years. One of the clever safety features built into these dryers is if the computer does not sense dryness in 110 minutes it will shut down the entire machine as it figures if this powerful dryer can reach the selected dryness in this time something must be wrong.
I would highly recommend either one of these dryers as a great combination of cool vintage and moderen performace and saftey.
