Detergents in Oman

So we made our way from Sri Lanka and are now in Muscat, Oman.

The very large supermarkets here always seem to refer to themselves as Hyper Markets.

I stopped by one today and took a few pictures of the detergent aisle. Lots of Tide (Jasmine scent), Omo and Ariel. A few boxes of Persil. Everything seems to be formulated for hand/twin tub washing or automatic. Pictures on the boxes indicate which.

I picked up a box of "Clean Up" detergent powder made by a company in Dubai. It is for automatics, contains (unspecified) enzymes and can be used in top load or front load automatics. It smells like vintage lemon Fab.

I see Ariel with a blue logo. What is that? Perhaps with phosphates?

Phosphates = Unknown

I wondered that also and looked for any indication about phosphates. The labels did not disclose anything about ingredients (that I could read) other than "contains enzymes".

In the past a blue logo meant Ariel with phosphates. I guess nothing is what it used to be anymore... lol

Awesome! Please continue posting shots of foreign detergents in this thread. I love that the AW crowd gets more excited over photos of rare detergents than local color, LOL.

blue logo

Looks like the blue logo on the Ariel is to denote 'top loader', whilst the green logo is for front loaders. There is a pic of the machine on the top left hand corner.
