Well Ben saw your video, the thing that got me was your rocker test not the spinning.
It was making a real racket with that knocking sound. Have you found out the cause? I would wager a loose spin bearing, or a loose tub support where the 6 bolts hold the tub to the cast iron plate just underneath.

Hey Jon -

I actually spent a few minutes working on this last night. It ended up the mechanism support nut was quite loose (aka scarry-loose). The reason? The tang from the housing was NOT in line with the slot on the washer. So with gradual use since Greg and I worked on it, it slowly came loose. Took care of that, cleaned up the mechanism nut assembly, applied the Permatex No. 2 like the repair manual stated, and got it reeeel tight (of course with the tang in the slot on the washer).

Battling with the water bellows snap ring - a 4" C-Clamp isn't quite as fun as using the Kent-Moore plier tool. But I'll try to get it completed this weekend.

Hey Ben......If you don't have the bellows ring tool if you use an x-large pair of channel lock pliers if makes it a lot easier than using a c-clamp...Also the pliers don't deform the snap ring like the c-clamp will...the channel locks are what i use (since i don't have bellows pliers either) on my roller matics.....trust me it's a lot easier..The type of channels lock that i use are the same ones that plumbers use....they are large and will expand enough to go around the ring and still be able to get a grip on the handles.....give it a try.........hope this helps
