redoing my kitchen, and i decided to replace the elite made by Bosch i bought 1 1/2 years ago. i really hate it.. dishes have an odor of dirty dishes, and dosent clean well-it dosent do the job. before that i had the double drawer dishwasher which turned out to be defective- that was for 6 months. prior to that i bought my first bosch. same issue with that one as with the elite..
So, i have had great success with whirlpool in the past.. i found a whirlpool gold, called "Quiet Partner Three" has everything i want and the price at the store was a good one..
anyone know the history or success of this machine? your input would be appreciated.look forward in hearing back. thanks

See Thread #17777 in Super Forum, Friday BoabLoad Offering. Every photo by me (appnut) are pics of my Tall Tub Kenmore Elite loads. I've been extremely pleased and surprised with cleaning and capacity. So, your similar Whirlpool cousin will do nicely too. Personally I prefer the SS tub to anything else Whirlpool would offer except for their TOL that does have a SS interior. Because mine is right under TOL, and confirmed by Magic Clean, my model has extra insulation which holds the heat in even more. I'm very pleased with the drying, many times does better than my old GE PotScrubber.
 
Whirlpool Gold

I have a 1999 model Whirlpool Gold model in this house. It just says "Quiet Partner" on the panel, but it's got the electronic timer, triple wash arms, and all the bells and whistles. I have yet to have a single dish come out dirty! And believe me.....I do NOT prewash my dishes. They tend to build up for a week or more sometimes in there and every single time they come out completely spotless! My mother has a later model dishwasher that's a similar style, but in a tall-tub and I can't say it does even half as good of a job washing as mine does. Even with pre-rinsed dishes, her's tends to leave food bits on some dishes.

The one thing I've noticed about the two machines is the water level. Mine tends to use quite a bit of water and it SOUNDS like it's getting the job done. Her's doesn't use nearly as much and sounds like it's moving the water, but nothing like mine does.

Maybe someone with some knowledge on the Whirlpools can chime in, but I know that mine's an ace!
 
Have been VERY happy with my Kenmore Elite (whirlpool made) HE wash system d/w. Stainless steel tub, alternating wash arms and EXTREMELY quiet. It has a removable filter like the Bosch, and no food grinder. I thought that might be a problem, because I don't rinse anything and sometimes don't scrape the dishes either.Only have to clean it occasionaly. It also has the rotating "turbo zone" jets at the back of the tub, and a "top rack only" option that does come in handy sometimes, and a "steam sanitize" feature.
 
I have to agree with ttuee and jamiel. My folks and I both have GE tall tubs. I run mine about every 6 days or so, and mom runs hers every other day or two. We both have problems with dishes not being fully clean, and with dirty utensils, etc. I heard my mom say just the other day that I needed to pre-rinse the plates because we didn't need to run the dishwasher that night. Dishes are fine if we run the machine before stuff dries.

Part of my childhood was spent in Denver where you don't pre-rinse dishes (that's what the dishwasher is for they say) and we've never broken the habit. Our old Potscrubbers didn't have this problem.

I have heard that the standard tub PowerClean module Whirlpool dishwashers are in their final year or so, so I'm thinking about dumping my Profile TallTub (sometimes I would LOVE to kick the stink out of it) in favor of a standard Whirlpool or what most would say is a lesser dishwasher, but one that will use enough water to clean my dishes the way they always were before.

I vote for a standard tub Whirlpool-made model. It may not be the quietest, but it will do it's job.
 
I had to change out my dishwasher last summer and I got a Quiet Partner II. I love this dishwasher. You can load so much more into into it without the tower in the middle that popped up on the old maytag. We used to run the dishwasher every day or every other day. This holds so much more that we usually run it every 3 days or so. Everything comes out clean. Love the silverware in the door option. So much easier to empty. Just open the door and unload everything at once. Good luck with yours.

Silverware in the Door

That is the one thing I absolutely HATE about my Whirlpool Gold. Whoever decided that flatware goes in the damn door should be dragged out and PUBLICLY shot! It is so totally inconvenient to have to save all the stupid silverware until AFTER everything else is loaded. Sure you can take the basket out and set it on the counter, but then you get to clean up yucky water and food off the counter!

I'm sorry....but the silverware basket belongs in the racks.......NOT in the door.
 
I have a Whirlpool TT and its 4 yrs old. One thing I want to mention, it does not get the dishes as clean as I would like UNLESS I use cascade complete....Not the tabs or gels or powerballs! It's a huge difference when using cascade complete perhaps any other powder. I think the powders are better.
 
Door Rack Silverware In the Main Rack

Unfortunately with my model, the silverware rack doesn't fit anywhere in the lower rack. I can fold one of the rear rows of spikes down, but then the space is too bag and it flops over during wash. Kind of a piss-poor idea and a really stupid way to try to get more room out of the lower rack. Other than that, i still LOVE that washer.
 
cascade complete

That's all I've basically used since it came out. Maybe that's why I get such great results with my Kenmore Elite TT. And I only use powder.
 
Electrolux Wave Touch

I have the new Electrolux Dishwasher. It is a great machine. Cleans very, well, extremely quite, ( A blue light shines on the floor when it is done), and one of the best racking systems I ever had. And...yes it does use more water than most of the other European makes. 10+ gallons on certain cycles if needed. I will post pictures of the Dishwasher and the other Electrolux Appliances and yes....the renovated kitchen very soon.

OMG!

I think any manufacturer that tried to market a machine like that in OZ would be set up for a lynching...

I can get a prewash, wash and up to 3 rinses in my machine but it will still use less than 6 US gallons or 24 litres...

It washes perfectly with a wash and 2 rinses...so about 3 1/2-4 gallons or 14-16 litres
