Another member and I are talking about both running “the peanut butter test” (peanut butter smeared in 3-5 glasses) in our dishwashers on the same day, then comparing the results. He has a newer Bosch (and a KDS17), I have a 4 year old Miele.
My questions are:
1. What cycle would you suggest using for this test?
~ Normal
~ Heavy Duty / Intensive Wash
~ Auto / Sensor Wash***
2. Should we leave the peanut buttered glasses out to “cure”.... before washing them?
~ A day?
~ A few days?
~ A week?
*** I’m pretty sure of what the outcome will be if I use the “Sensor Wash” program. A little over a week ago I washed 3 jars, Two of them (cheese spread and raspberry preserves) I specifically left sitting out with the lid off for a week, the third jar (Cheese whiz) sat out 4 days. I ran “sensor wash” (3.5 hrs). Once finished everything looked good at first glance, but shortly after and to my horror, I realized the detergent dispenser didn’t open! This was due to “user error” as I had loaded a tray in the wrong location which blocked the dispenser lid and kept it from opening (D’oh!). So yes, it got everything “that clean” without any detergent.
