So far, I have various flavors of Dawn, Ivory (found only the classic scent of that one), Joy, and Sunlight (Phoenix Brands). Next time I make it to Fareway, I'll look for Palmolive. My mother used that one when i grew up. My favorite scent for dish detergents is lemon, followed by other citrus variants. Since I don't have an automatic dishwasher, I do not collect Cascade, Finish, etc.--Laundry Shark

There are several formulas of Palmolive available now. I use the original Madge the Manicurist formula since it doesn't make my hands break out. The original blue Dawn didn't bother me, but Procter and Gamble must have altered something within the past several years because I can't touch the stuff now. It'll make me break out up to my elbows, almost as bad as having irritations from contact with poison ivy.

I'd be interested if you can find Crystal White Octagon brand dish soap made by Colgate-Palmolive. It's a budget brand that works very well but is getting difficult to find.

Ajax and Crystal White Octagon

Has anybody found and used Ajax brand dish soap varieties? Now there's another brand to hunt for next time I hit the store. Both Ajax and Crystal White Octagon are still mentioned on the Colgate-Palmolive site. The first time I saw and used a bottle of Dawn was back in third grade when our teacher brought a small bottle of Dawn for us to wash our hands and small dishes instead of always having to use this pink colored powdered dispenser soap for our hands, etc. Anybody remember such a powdered hand soap and or what commercial or store brand that might have been? By the way, I thought that bottle of Dawn appeared to me as green, but maybe my eyes did not decipher the color very well, as I still had some eyesight, but was gradually losing it.--Laundry Shark

Ajax dish soap works quite well. I used up a bottle that my mom had bought recently. It didn't work well in her extremely hard water so she passed it along since my water is fairly soft. It generates plenty of bubbles, cuts grease, and costs very little. I believe I've seen it offered in lemon, orange, and grapefruit scents.

The original blue Dawn was first introduced by Procter & Gamble in 1975. It worked extremely well on grease and its bubbles seemed to last a long time, even after washing a whole sinkful of dirty dishes. I wish I could still use it because it was one of the best dish soaps available. I like the original bottle for Dawn--that tall, triangular, semi-clear plastic design with the star crown around the top and the white plastic squirter cap.

Guys, I amj having a hard time finding "Cascade Complete" powder....anyone else having this problem. I have one of the Briva sink top dishwashers and that is really the only detergent that will work in that thing. I used to be able to find it at Walmart but thye only have the packs now and the liquid...this machine cannot use either.....I checked the website and it looks like the powder is still being made. I have to say that I find that it really works.

Mike, look at Target or your local grocery stores for Cascade Complete powder. Menards home improvement stores carry it as well. But, I'm assuming that since you live in Atlanta, Home Depot probably has most of the market share out there....
