Subject: Do not Cal

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public today

REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20 seconds.

Thanks Brent for posting this huge "public service" announcement.

If it's a guy calling I simply ask "What are you wearing" followed by "What is you name? Home phone number? And where are you located?" Magically my name appears to fall of these lists.

Equally effacious,

I have learned the most insulting terms for the Mexican, poor white US-American and Indian cultures. Usually involves one's mother and or the sale of one's sister...
Spoken with a neutral tone of genuine interest, it works a charm on these people.
I'm out of the 'States right now, but Tracfone let's me turn my service off, thank goodness. Have to remember to add meself to the list when next back.

do not call for five years...

If I remember correctly, I think the time limit on the do not call list has been extended to "forever". Don't think it must be renewed at the end of five years.

Steve,
I just love your strategic armor with them!
I should try it next time!
Brent

Celling Your Soul

Claim: Cell phone users must register their numbers with the national "Do Not Call" directory by a given deadline to prevent their cell phone numbers from being released to telemarketers.

Status: False.

Examples:

I thought I would check this out on Snopes.com and it appears to be a false rumor.
Sincerely,
John
