I have 13 yr old WP DW-that has a center post fixed to the bottom rack that shoots water into the spray directly below the top rack, 5.3 Amp motor-no repairs. Electrasol and Sunlight suds up in the machine that I have to run twice empty to remove the suds. Based on advice from an Appliance tech-he suggested Cascade and use only 1 tblsp of detergent per cup. It was the temperature of the water that cleaned the dishes and not so much the detergent and the manufacturers want you to use both cups and fill them so will buy more detergent. He also said to use 1 cap of Tang to an empty machine and that will clean the machine. Any one try this? I now use Cascade powder 1 tblsp per cup and no sudsing. Also, Wegmans brand(local supermarket) no problem. These are the only two that do not suds. Also, the tablets and packets are out. Any advice? I could not use Electrasol from day one-I was thinking maybe its the water. Thank you.
