Isn't it amazing by just keeping something clean can add years to its life?
The woodlike front looks like brand new.

Fabulous 80's

I did have that exact model, from around 85-86 I believe, worked well for many years, but did tend to freeze up in humid weather. had to keep the thermostat turned down.

This is a great find Jay!
My grandmother had the model up from this when I was a kid. Her version had the "power saver" switch that cycled the fan off and on with the compressor.
It was a very good A/C, and actually quiet. I helped her pick it out.
Brings back memories.
Are you going to use it?

Nice buy. The summer of 73 I was working in our local Woolco and they sold Emerson a/c's. I can remember we had pallet loads of them up the center aisle. On the blistering hot nights of a heatwave especially between about 8pm and 10 when the store closed people would come in droves to buy one and they were gone until the next shipment came in. Amazing considering they weren't an inexpensive buy like they are now. Course now you can pick up a Haier or Danby 5000 btu for the like of $79 or $89 at WalMart etc.

EQK

I would like to use it in my computer room, however, it is so clean and mint like, I may have to stow it away. It blows cold air and purrs so pretty. All components are US made and even Emerson made the compressor for this. The guy even had the box it came in and I have saved it. I also have the instruction manual. I remember back in the late 70 s when my small town appliance dealer began to carry Emerson units. When my parents were going to built a house in 1980 I begged them not to put in central air so we could go pick out the units and the one I chose for my bedroom was this one with the energy saver swich.
