Electrical Wiring in India

Delta Airlines has a special number for their Elite business travelers to call. It connects you to a reservation agent here in the U.S., all other calls by normal passengers get connected to India.

A few years ago Prince Phillip got into trouble. He was touring a new factory in Britain that was being constructed. When they showed him the wiring of the circuit box, he commented that "It looks like an Indian did this work!"
He got into a lot of hot water with the Indian community for saying that!
But then again, it's not the first time he's gotten into trouble for his comments. From what most people say, he's actually got quite a nasty disposition.

Hmmm, I recently rang my mobile phone company in Ireland and they've outsourced basically everything to India.

Rang up:

"Welcome to 3 Ireland - My name is Seamus, how can I help you today?" (Strong indian accent)

While it is possible that there are some Indians called Seamus, I do think he was making it up

I try not do deal with companies who outsource( kinda impossibe to avoid totally tho)- Funnilly it is the main reason I wont have a 3 mobile !.

Back in the late '70's I traveled cheaply in Guatemala and Mexico. In one "hotel" I stayed at in Guatemala, the proprietor had wired a long string of 110 volt lighting outside the "rooms" (really interconnected shacks) using simple 18 gauge lampcord - the kind with clear vinyl insulation. The rooms themselves had no power or lighting, which was probably just as well. Well what do you expect for $1/night? Another sight was a hotel worker using a rock to pound in a nail...

When I stayed at another cheap hotel in Flores, near Tikal, the power flickered in the early evening and then died completely. Naturally the batteries in my flashlight gave out about the same time. I was then treated to an hours-long heated argument in unintelligible Spanish in the next room - which sounded like it was inside my room. I was really happy, finally, to cross the border back into Mexico - I felt like I had re-entered civilization.

Talking about Mis-Communication!
Today a Woman from India that works for UPS told me that she would have to end my telephone conversation because she could not understand my thick accent!!!!
Thought I would share....
I laughed so hard, and then got pissed......
I called back and gave the claim number, and was so lucky. A Spanish guy could understand my accent.
I actually told him about my conversation with the Indian woman, and he could not stop laughing!

The caption says:
If this is Business Class, where do the Economy Class passengers sit?

Unbeknowest to the passengers sitting on top, there are two workers shoving a person into the bowels of the elephant. *LOL* The workers have on turbans and loin-clothes and one could perhaps assume they are of Indian or Egyptian origin.

Do you think I could earn a living as a writer? *LOL*

Hey! At least they have insulators....on one of the poles....

I can't imagine what a nightmare a power system like that must be to work on. They must just string new stuff whenever there's a blackout or something.
