Hi Gary,

I'm also the eager type, rushing into it then learning from your mistakes along the way. The early Keymatic's were in someway's far out relations to cars and the likes by having a clutch. Make sure your load will be a balanced one as these machines are known for jumping about when it comes to spinning.

Wow Gary, looks like you put in a lot of graft over those three days, very impressive! Hope that most of its issues have been dealt with.

And that is one scary mains lead! Guess it looked fine from the outside? I've seen 1950s Hoover flexes crumble like that, but never on something so 'modern'! Glad neither you or the machine were hurt!

Think your part of Saltash will need renaming Keymatic Korner or something, hehehe!

Try and try again

Well after another couple of sessions i have now finally got the machine to do a complete wash all the way through without any leaks or anything else playing up.

Firstly a few fots of the replaced mains cable and the water level pressure switch which has given so many problems

This gitting thing took 3 attempts with Araldite to finally seal it, the plastic back had loads of tiny fractures in it which were letting the air slowly escape creating havoc later on in the wash program.

Ho, I’m going dizzy looking at this, I’m getting so high on that araldite.

Oh yes I forgot

i also havent mentioned that the rubber hose from the tub to the pressure bottle was leaking aswell so i had to replace that, along with the connecting pipe work, i went overboard and used silicon breather pipe and jubilee clips, thinking i had had enough of leaks!

Different Designs

Let me say that every wash program on this machine has a pre-wash (wether you want it or not), some are heated (32o) and some are not, fill, 3-1/2 minute tumble and pump out. the heated ones take longer.

And then out goes the water nd in comes new water the machine fills to low level and the wash begins

this machine heats and tumbles until it has reached the program temperature (40o) and being the obsessive git i am i checked it and it was spot on (thank christ)it then proceeds through a few more wash action stages

Pre-Rinse Fill

Once it has finished the main wash it then fills to high level before pumping out and going into the 4 high level rinse cycles, it has no compartment for fabric conditioner so you either add that to the last rinse or let it run throughand then select the "special treatments" programme and add the conditioner that way
