How Sad!!!!!!

Ive never met but only a few of you,Im really sad I never met him,he was truly loved just by looking at the pictures and reading the threads. What a nice tribute to a fallen friend all of you have created,Godspeed his trip to Heaven, Bobby

I had never had the pleasure to meet Terry. This is so sad to hear. I wish I could have met him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his AW family. Just by reading all these posts and looking at the pictures I can tell he was truly loved by everyone on this site. RIP Terry.

I suppose there is nothing I can say that has not been so eloquently expressed already. I too never had an opportunity to meet Terry, but through his posts it was clear what a gentleman he was. When good people die, it is always too soon. For those of you who knew Terry, I hope your memories comfort you and in time make you smile. Honor this good man with your actions - it is the best tribute you can pay him. As always all are in my prayers.

My condolences...

Though I never met him, we all share the same interests and passion for beautifully made machines. I know those who knew him well will surely feel the loss and I wish you all much love and a big hug in this difficult time.

Having been seriously stunned hearing this yesterday afternoon I woke up this morning thinking that perhaps it was just a bad dream, if not then just a horrible practical joke.
I only met Terry the once in 08 at Canton as well. That was around the start of a bad time in my life with my sisters failing health and later death and my moms altzheimers diagnosis where I was just about at my wits end worrying, forcing myself to attend in the hopes I'd have a good time and catch at least a few days break from it all. I got there only to realize I was feeling even worse than had I stayed home. Now I had to endure meeting new people, being uncomfortable with it and all that entails and I was pretty much set to just go get my luggage, hop in the car and drive home. Terry was one of the first people I met there and he was so easy to chat with and made me feel very welcome and I ended up staying. We chatted off and on throughout, on the chairs in the lobby or out front having a smoke. I cant say enough about him. We'd kept in touch on the phone since, yakking about this or that going on in our lives and he was always genuinely concerned I believe about how I was making out as things here at home kept getting progressively worse. He called one time I wasn't home and Larry answered the call not really knowing who the hell he was but they ended up having a conversation. He said to me.. Your friend Terry in Florida phoned and he sounds like a really nice guy and he wants to know when are we coming down to Florida. That in itself is a testament about how wonderful a man he was.

You only get a few real friends in your lifetime so my grandma used to say, he was certainly one of mine and many many others here and no doubt in his separate life outside of the vac/washer world so he was indeed one of those rare exceptions to the rule. Always a friend, never an acquaintance.

Dear Friends, JoEllen and I are so sorry to hear about our friend Terry passing on. Terry was one of the first people I had made friends with on this club site back in 2000. He was an inspiration to all who had any contact with him. Always helping out, lending good advice or holding your hand thru a crisis. He didn't judge people and showed his huge heart full of love every day. Terry, we will miss you and I hope you are looking down and know just how family, friends and people all around loved and cared about you. Dan and JoEllen

Saddened to learn about Terry

I just want to say that I am very grateful to have met Terry on a few occasions during our get togethers. He was a wonderful man and a great person.

I also want to say that the tribute on here by all of you is so nice and what a thoughtful way to remember him. I'm sure that Terry would be touched by all of the loving and kind words spoken about him.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news, I did not know Terry but I have seen his pictures on this site many time. Now reading the love that was felt for him, I feel the loss as well. Thank you for sharing the pictures again, and those that did know him; thank you for sharing this kind and gentle soul with us.

Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace (Amen)
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

Deepest sympathy

My deepest sympathy to all of Terry's family and friends, although I never met him, just reading your various postings clearly show the high regard and esteem he was held in,he was clearly a truly wonderful man, it is just so unfair that all the very decent and good people seem to die so young and in the prime of their lives.
Always remember my cyber-friends, that our loved ones are never truly gone until the memories fade, and I am very certain in Terry's case those memories will be around for many, many years to come.
My very best wishes to you all.
Steve.

Although I never had the chance to meet Terry,

this tragic paassing of a such a fine gentlemen really breaks my heart. It was nice to know that he had so many friends in his life just by viewing these pictures of him and his friends. Robert, you, as well as many of his close friends, have my deepest sympathy.

John

I never had the chance to meet Terry or talk to him.  But just a week before he passed away, he said me happy birthday on this forum.

Terry, I hope you're having a great time where you are now.

Rest in Peace Terry!

Even though I've not had the privilege to have known Terry, I am touched by the heartfelt tributes from everyone here. I, too, wish to extend my deepest sympathies to everyone bereft by his sudden passing.

With condolences ...

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of one of our members - and obviously from the testamonies and photos, a very dear member to many. After reading his membership bio, I'm moved to reitterate Terry's sentiment about the wonderful members of this club, who, not only share a common interest, but are also a great group of people.

This is just so sad!

Terry had been threatening to come to one of our NE wash-ins and he finally made it to the one this past summer (see the above pic of him in front of the Tiki Bar) We were so fortunate to have met him! What a nice, nice genuine person. He was the type of guy who would make an outsider feel as though they had known each other for a long time. We will miss not having a second opportunity to be in his company.

I was so glad to hear theat he had what we in the hospice field refer to as a good death. instant, painless and with friends/loved-ones near him. We couldn't custom order an inevitable event to be so perfect. It is the ones left that are suffering. Our (Chuck and I) condolences go out to all of Terry's family and close friends :-(

I am so sorry to hear about this. Terry seemed to be a great guy who was loved by all. Our sympathies to his family & friends.

Since Terry flew up to Chicago before the episode started I wonder if DVT was the cause. Did anyone mention to the doctors at the hospital that he had recently flown?

For those who don't know DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clot that forms in areas where there isn't generally good blood circulation. Sitting in a seat on a airplane plus the cabin pressure differential can cause this.

The best way to prevent this is to move about the cabin periodically and flex your legs. If, after a flight you don't quite feel right seek emergency treatment immediately! Left untreated DVT is usually fatal.
