I am so sorry to hear this sad news, I did not know Terry but I have seen his pictures on this site many time. Now reading the love that was felt for him, I feel the loss as well. Thank you for sharing the pictures again, and those that did know him; thank you for sharing this kind and gentle soul with us.

Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace (Amen)
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

Deepest sympathy

My deepest sympathy to all of Terry's family and friends, although I never met him, just reading your various postings clearly show the high regard and esteem he was held in,he was clearly a truly wonderful man, it is just so unfair that all the very decent and good people seem to die so young and in the prime of their lives.
Always remember my cyber-friends, that our loved ones are never truly gone until the memories fade, and I am very certain in Terry's case those memories will be around for many, many years to come.
My very best wishes to you all.
Steve.

Although I never had the chance to meet Terry,

this tragic paassing of a such a fine gentlemen really breaks my heart. It was nice to know that he had so many friends in his life just by viewing these pictures of him and his friends. Robert, you, as well as many of his close friends, have my deepest sympathy.

I never had the chance to meet Terry or talk to him.  But just a week before he passed away, he said me happy birthday on this forum.

Terry, I hope you're having a great time where you are now.

Rest in Peace Terry!

Even though I've not had the privilege to have known Terry, I am touched by the heartfelt tributes from everyone here. I, too, wish to extend my deepest sympathies to everyone bereft by his sudden passing.

I'm sorry for everyone's loss

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Terry but I think he would be pleased that so many people responded on this thread. Our choir did a version of the Psalm 23. I hope he and you like it.

Miss you Terry!

With condolences ...

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of one of our members - and obviously from the testamonies and photos, a very dear member to many. After reading his membership bio, I'm moved to reitterate Terry's sentiment about the wonderful members of this club, who, not only share a common interest, but are also a great group of people.

This is just so sad!

Terry had been threatening to come to one of our NE wash-ins and he finally made it to the one this past summer (see the above pic of him in front of the Tiki Bar) We were so fortunate to have met him! What a nice, nice genuine person. He was the type of guy who would make an outsider feel as though they had known each other for a long time. We will miss not having a second opportunity to be in his company.

I was so glad to hear theat he had what we in the hospice field refer to as a good death. instant, painless and with friends/loved-ones near him. We couldn't custom order an inevitable event to be so perfect. It is the ones left that are suffering. Our (Chuck and I) condolences go out to all of Terry's family and close friends :-(

I am so sorry to hear about this. Terry seemed to be a great guy who was loved by all. Our sympathies to his family & friends.

Since Terry flew up to Chicago before the episode started I wonder if DVT was the cause. Did anyone mention to the doctors at the hospital that he had recently flown?

For those who don't know DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clot that forms in areas where there isn't generally good blood circulation. Sitting in a seat on a airplane plus the cabin pressure differential can cause this.

The best way to prevent this is to move about the cabin periodically and flex your legs. If, after a flight you don't quite feel right seek emergency treatment immediately! Left untreated DVT is usually fatal.
