Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I still don't understand the fixation on top-loading. It's not that much of an advantage!

I mean, people go on and on about how much easier it is to load a top loader, but you still have to stoop over to get things from the bottom of the drum.
With a front loader you put a basket under the door, pull the clothes out and they're out! No lifting etc

Also, the same people who moan about front loader washers being difficult to load/unload seem to have no issue with front-loading dryers which have pretty much identical characteristics to a front loader washer when it comes to loading/unloading.

To me, a top loading h-axis machine is just unnecessarily complicated and it is nice to be able to see what's going on through a glass porthole!

I must agree with mrx on the ergonomics of front loaders. My mother who is 86 years old has difficulty with standing for longer periods. With her front loader she can load/unload and operate the machine while sitting on a chair which she finds very convenient.

I think its a preference thing... I personally don't like front laoders becuase of results that i previously was not happy with

~I'm a sucker for H-axis toploaders.

I love to see those narrow HATL-ers such as the French appear to prefer, and those Louis has shown us so many of!

Now with water efficienccy standards in place I have not yet seen what the USA market will do to replace conventional top-loaders that are smaller than 24" (60cm) in width.

These HATL-ers may be the key!
