My 2 cents...again...
Very interesting...it continues to unfold, one piece at a time! Since I am 100% unfamiliar with the area I just assumed the route John took was correct (oooops, we all know what happens when we ASSUME!), but Jeff, you made an interesting observation. Just out of curiosity I pulled up directions from Toledo to Minneapolis on MapQuest and Aurora was not mentioned ANYWHERE.
Playing devil's advocate for a moment, I've heard of moving vans being stolen all of the time, especially from motel parking lots, so that claim can't really be disputed. HOWEVER, this was NOT A MOVING VAN. Thieves are generally lazy and usually take the path of least resistance, and stealing a 2006 Dodge Dakota with 3 "junky" washing machines in the back just to get the truck would NOT seem logical and would take quite a bit of work; I would go for the more accessible vehicle! Not to mention that the Dodge Dakota is a compact pickup and like Greg said, 3 LARGE washing machines could not possibly fit! It would be different if you mentioned a Dodge Ram, which can easily swallow about 3-4 machines, perhaps it's not too late to change your story. The cell-phone battery issue is pure bulls**t, in my opinion. You were at a MOTEL! Since you said you looked out the window in the morning, and saw the missing truck, you could have just as easily gone back into your room to use the phone there, even though you might have added some extra onto your room bill! I'm definitely not buying THAT. And who the hell leaves their laptop in the truck overnight? I wouldn't!!!
About the "Westywashndry" character: the profile says "Massillion" or Massillon, HOWEVER, did any of you happen to see the email address? It was [email protected]. I also noticed that this "person" claimed to have a lot of machines (which, theoretically, he should know something about as far as technical information is concerned), yet he posted asking what the model number for a certain Laundromat is!!! In another thread, he posted about 15 vintage Kirby vacuums, with the attachments, and then at the end of the post, he used the signature "John". Yes, I thought this person's name was "Devon Allardyce!" I'm sure someone will come up with a link to that thread. I also noticed a post on Vacuumland by him as well, under the name "Westyboy1". He was wanting all of the attachments except the hose for a Hoover Celebrity IV.
