Keymatic Vids

Morning All

Did my first wash friday (skived off work)
All went well, interesting rinse cycle, there are 4 rinses in total.
1st dilution, no spin
2nd dilution short spin
3rd dilution no spin
4th fabric conditioner final long spin

The water was clear by the 3rd rinse, the machine performed wonderfully, washing was clean as a whistle, no glitches even the suspension coped well, the only thing is of course the spin speed! (720 rpm)........upside very little creasing though

I have a few more vids to sort out and upload.

Ill be back

Gary

Hi Paul,

I've got a W423 Miele which made its debut in 74 or 75 I think. It is a 900RPM/1100RPM machine, it spins at 900RPM for most of the spin and then at 1100RPM for the final increment on cottons.

It has a combined Induction/Brush motor, it uses the induction for wash which makes it whisper quiet and then the Brush motor for spin, which gives it its characteristic howl.

Were there any other 1100's prior to that?

I love those keymatic pics.

Cheers,

Nathan

Keymatic find

Bit of a strange weekend at work for bits.
Went in Saturday and in our metal skip was (no shouting Paul)..........a worktop cover for i guess either my machine or any of the matchbox series machines

It is identical to mine except the aluminium trim around the edges is smooth and not ribbed, also where it was thrown in the skip it has hit the corner of something which has knocked a small hole in it, but i reckon i could do this, finding this sent me frantically going through our electrical skip but nothing there :-(

Then Sunday a Hoover motor turned up in a box, very old type i think it is a Hoover 800 motor but im not sure yet

Then some old taps came in with, Hoover tap adaptors fitted to them, only one of them had the brass bayonnet fitting adaptor, i have never seen these before, I presume them to be for a twin tub or possible the first Keymatic

I must get out more often :-)

Ill try an get the rest of the vids sorted

Vids

Morning Paul

Im glad you like them, ill get the hang of using the camera better eventually

Thanks for checking your keyplate, much appreciatted.

Tell me do you want me to keep the micro tronic front panel and circuit boards i stripped of a machine for you.

That Zodiac is rather nifty looking me thinks

Gary

How do Gary.

re the microtronic bits.

Yep keep hold of them for me please. Let me know what you want for them too.

It is our intention to save a Microtronic, as soon as a decent, pick uppable one turns up, so any spares are gratefully received.

Myself and Rob will keep our eyes peeled on our travels for an orange keyplate.

One will turn up from somewhere I am sure. As with all that we do, its that annoying waiting game.

hey ho.

Paul

Retro Machines

As we have an interest in retro machines, i thought i would introduce my just as old ITT radio/cassette as it is from the same period as the washer, chrome, aluminium and wood effect were the order of the day for these portables, thoae of you old enough will probably remember these machines
