Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

They don't call their main detergent SA8 With Bioquest®, as is done with Quixtar in the USA. That's interesting. I wonder if it's the same formulation and they just use a different name for it under the Quixtar umbrella.

I'm glad it's an environmentally friendly product, especially since I don't agree with the politics of the company at all.

Me neither (and I still haven't ordered)....

I'll probably try the "High Performance" TWB from Costco first.

Last time I had some--

Amway, the laundry detergent worked quite well, the dishwasher powder was all right, and none of the products were bad.

Like most direct sales products, I find them somewhat-to-very overpriced, and less said about the politics of the company, the better.

Scamway/Cultstar

It's been about 10 years now since I attempted to try Amway only to have spent lots of money for nothing. Can you say Brainwashed?

Yes, that happened to my friend at work. She got roped in at her church.

The sad part of it was, in addition to the laundry products, a lot of their other stuff was definitely top-notch quality...

Courtney The Amway Crap

The Sa8 does work quite well and in now rated #1 by C U. it got out stains tide did not.. One of the member did a test with it just a few weeks ago and it did a very good job! I too don't like the way they do the marketing but that does not mean the products are"Crap" !

Similar experience w/ Amway

I too was the object of an AMWAY attempt to recruit. I went to many seminars and even the huge Zig Ziglar Amway festival in Kentucky some years ago.
I was absolutely fascinated by the culture and mystified as well. It had a very serious cult feeling to it. I never went beyond going to their seminars and festivals (never sold the products).
The AMWAY products that I bought from my friends did work very well though. I wanted their products but wanted nothing to do with the culture. Bye Bye Amway.
It seems to be more prevalent in the South. Amway seems virtually non-existent in Chicago.

VERY cult-like

They use every mind control scheme in the book. I was treated like shit because I was unable to make contacts/sales/business recruits. At a time when I was desperately trying to find acceptance, I got NONE from the Amway crowd.

Dropped like a hot rock

The end for me came when they wanted me to get 10 people to come to a seminar BEFORE I was even signed up as an Amway representative!! They want me to spend MY time to recruit 10 people for a company I am not affiliated with.. and for FREE???
When I said "are you nuts?" , Amway and I parted ways. So glad it came quickly. Still glad I attended those seminars and pow-wows. Quite an education and I got to see Zig Ziglar!

Our family had a run in with Amway once.

One of my dad's friends from our church tried to recruit my parents to sell Amway. We did use the LOC and SA8 but they did not seem much better than other cleaning products at the time (early 80's). "Joe" the Amway man would often come over without calling ahead, at strange hours. Finally mother was so b----ty with him he went away.

My sisters were friends with Joe's daughters until they started to sell Amway. Then they started to stay away and not even say hi, not wanting to run into a high pressure sales pitch.

In the mid 90's, I believe, President Clinton had a "town meeting" where he answered questions from the audience about the economy. One man said he wanted to know what Clinton was going to do for small businesses. I am sure when Mr. Clinton asked "May I ask what kind of a business" he did not expect to hear "It's an Amway business". People in the audience with giggling and the disc jockeys the next day were having a field day with that.

For some reason, Amway gets a lot of military families - I wonder why, do they think everything has to be kept a "spit shine" and would you a lot of the products?

Also years ago, on the late night radio, Larry King was on the Mutual Network which was owned by Amway. One caller asked if Larry ever used Amway products. I don't remember the answer, but can anyone see Larry King using a cleaning product, he probably does not know how to turn on a washing machine! Amway probably has a hair product he could use, but I think Ron Popeil's hair spray would work better on him.

Nep, probably getting into big trouble with the Amway police!

Putin's promotion of Amway in Russia and the financial effect it had on poor people, particularly older folks, is an absolute tragedy.

All I know is what I've seen in the year I've been in the Amway business and I've seen enough and I can verify pretty much all the cult-like activities that they do.
