A family friend is GIVING away this turquoise 1954 electric Westinghouse dryer in absolutely mint condition! They've been using it for many years and have decided to get something new finally. It is urgent this dryer be gone in the next couple of days and they want it to go to a loving home. Again, this is FREE to anyone who wants it and it is beautiful!

This is located in Vancouver, Washington. Please contact me directly via email at [email protected]. Again, this will go to the scrapper if I can't find a home for it in the next couple of days because the new Speed Queens arrive on Tuesday.

I didn't realize Westy began offering pastel colors for this model year. The "push" button was for auto-dry. One of my mos' best friends had this dryer, was paire with a WI55 Frigidaire.

Looks like an 06-08 Maytag washer resides next to the Westinghouse. Those would be worth the trip for anybody looking for a vintage set of machines.

Ben

Well, let's just say I would have tried a little harder to figure something out. Actually there's no way though. The doorway to the basement is relentless when it comes to this kind of stuff. The Maytag washer won't be a problem. It's these super-wide machines that just won't happen. I love this dryer though and would love to have it. Apparently it dries very hot too and has the cute bell chime at the end of the cycle.

omg omg omg

How can we get this to St. Louis? I'd cut off an appendage for freight!! Whew, is it hot in here? That's BEAUTIFUL.

(still hyperventilating)

While I've read of folks here doing so, I've no experience arranging for such a move. I'd be more than willing to pay for shipping, and for handling. Any suggestions? Holy cow, I'd almost take a long road trip if I can get some vacation time. Where's my smelling salts?

Boy o Boy!

I'm not a Westinghouse guy, BUT that dryer is in such good shape, even I would take it!

It would be inexcusable for someone to let this slip away.

Ship to Kansas maybe?

I would suggest U-Crate. Have had excellent service with them. Not sure of the phone number but if you do a search I'm sure it will turn up.

Jon if this machine doesn't find a home there must be some place you can put it. I would be willing to bet that in turquoise this is a very rare machine.

I wish I could take it...

trust me. Our house is way too small and it won't go in the basement. There's just no way I can take it so I'm not going to bother. I really want someone on here to get it though. I'm not kidding when I say this dryer is in perfect condition. Even has the operating manual with it. Someone get a shipping company and I'll help any way I can. I just can't save it myself.

Oh, don't worry...

I'm at work, but as SOON as I get home I'm gonna get online and see what I can find out. I think I'll need the ZIP code for the pickup location, not certain what else I'd need. I'll fire off an email when I get to the house. (still salivating, by the way...)

UShip

I recently tried UShip for the first time, to ship a washing machine. It worked well. You set the specs for the shipping job, and shippers bid on it. You can accept a shippers bid or not. You get to review a shipper's feedback, like on eBay.

If arrangments cannot be made

I would be interested - I could have a freight company pick it up .

Please drop me an e-mail as I would love to have this machine in my collection .
