Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Now that's a refrigerator!

Patrick:

I want a poppy red Frigidaire and I want it NOW!!!! :-0

Wow: That fridge is way too cool! I can only hope and pray that I stumble (did anyone say serendipity) onto such a great find! :-)

They are out there...

Venus-

I saw one last month on craigslist for the Seattle, WA area. It was a 3 door (split freezer) side by side in Poppy Red and they only wanted $75.00 for it. I looked again today but can't find it so they must have sold it and removed the ad.

Thanks for the compliment. I knew only this group could really appreciate it like I do.

The design of current icemakers out there has also been a pet peeve of mine. I don't understand why someone can't redesign a better ice cube shape to come out of their ice maker.

Static cooling fin design

Thanks for the info guys. I guess it's six of one and half a dozen of the other as far as heat transfer into the room goes. Guess I'll keep mine. I did pull it out about four inches from the wall last Fall when I clean under it. Perhaps that will help this Summer.

By the way that Poppy Red is just the coolest!! Love it! Why do the make only ugly colors now??

I agree with you guys on those cresent shaped ice cubes. They have used that same design since the 1960's! My 77 Kevinator's factory icemaker makes the cresent shape as well. They are slippery, and I am forever dropping them. They are also devils to pick up off the floor!

icemaker cube shapes

Didn't GE's have a design that had little rods in the bottom of the molds that pushed up the normal-shaped cubes, then a bar would sweep them off into the bin? Do they still do that or did they succumb to the crescent shaped thing?

My kitchen 1887-2002

Steven the kitchen and cabinets are my own design. A contractor did the work, and a custom cabinet maker made the cabinets according to my design and specs.
I had hated the kitchen in my house for 25 years or so,and had thought about "my dream kitchen" for years.I had just one ft. of counter space on each side of the sink. After the lead pipes started to leak above this room and ruined the ceiling,I had my chance to make it reality. You can see the little Hotpoint fridge in the corner of the pantry. It was made for an ice box you see.
This is before. Thanksgiving Day c-1988 or so.

and then it looked like this..

I had the contractor tear the wall out,so the pantry could be a part of the kitchen, and the ceiling tore out also so the lead pipes could be replaced with copper. Then it looked like this.... Even though it was a mess,it STILL looked better to me!!! LOL!!

Meanwhile the rest of the house....

LOOKS LIKE THIS!!! FOR FIVE MONTHS NO LESS! Thats when I learned that when contractor say's it will take five weeks,he's REALLY saying five months....
The whole interior of the house was like this all Summer.

Then it looked like this, and I was HAPPY again!!

And also $20,000.00 poorer... However it is worth it to me. I have granite countertops, and ceramic floor and copper plumbing. It will all last the rest of my life and them some. I bought a used 1977 Kelvinator fridge to go with it,because I hated the junky new ones and that was before I found this wonderful web site.

Thanks,
Rick

dishes

In the pic of the old kitchen with all the people, dost I see a Corelle "Butterfly Gold" coffee cup on the right counter? God, we're a sharp-eyed bunch :-)

My whole dish set is that design. They don't make that pattern anymore, had to fill out my set off of E-Bay.
