I work as a correctional officer here at the arizona state prison.
While I was at work this evening, one of the inmate kitchen workers placed a grease rag into the dryer(I imagine after it had been washed, but still grease soaked). Well needless to say the dryer caught on fire. Had to evacuate the building and the firemen(some were very nice looking) came and put the fire out. I wish I could have taken pictures of the dryer. Was all toasty. Besides the dryer, black walls, and the plastic light cover melting. Nothing else was destroyed. The washers and dryers the state uses are whirlpool (I'm guessing about 10 years old). Probably came out of a laundry mat. Anyways just thought might be intresting to post.

OUCH!

And yet mannies allow wax-soaked rags..........(in the form of dryer softener-sheets).

One can always tell in the thrift shops who used such sheet in that the dryers are newer and a sticky, stinky rusted mess.
