Frigidaire Toploaders

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just checked teh Frigidaire website and they now have 2 toploaders listed on there. There weren't act pics posted yet, but the specs were there. Just wanted to comment since someone said awhile ago that they didn't think Frigidaire was going to make toploaders anymore since they weren't on the website.

As I remember from a few years ago, Electrolux had a brazillian-swedish project to be launched in the US as the last frigidaire top loader.

The model is exactly like the "top 12" sold in brazil. It has two dials, automatic water level, twist open dispenser drawer, internal heater, sneakers washing accessory and flag filter with recirculation pump, plus the hot fill and remaining time display which is not available in Brazil.

hey guys, i took the model number, i foud one on another website for sale, it looks like it is similar to the previous models, notice the control panel is a little different.

Frigidaire was sold by GM to WCI in 1980, that was the death of those fabulous machines... **sigh**

happened in 1978. We got the news on 4/10/78 on our ticker tape at work"General Motors slams the car door on FRIGIDAIRE.Selling the name off to WCI".I balled my eyes out and actualy left work to go home and take a Valium.CBS news covered the story that night and showed the appliances going along the Dayton factory's assembly line.

And then WCI ruined a perfectly good product, replacing it with pure JUNK TRASH. Thus, the Frigidaire brand has become permanently, and irrevocably tainted. Of course, the disease carried over to Electrolux like a virus, so their products are contaminated by the WCI bug as well. How am I to not know that part of WCI's influence might have somehow got mixed into the new premium Wave Touch front loaders? I know it has definitely made its way into the Affinitys and frigemores. Like the prions that cause BSE in cattle, you really can't get rid of it without killing off the host!

It's pretty much the same Frigidaire washer with a new outer skin. Check the parts manual available online at the site.

This machine has the worst automatic temperature control I've ever seen.

Hot water is dumbed down, but warm water isn't controlled. This is a big issue in Minnesota, where cold tap water can run 43 degrees during the winter. Lord!

I looked at the owner's manual online, and this is definitely the same machine with a cosmetic update. Oh, well....

Wonder if they reduced the maximum water level even more?

This Just In: There is a new feature on these machines. It's called PowerPlus Clean. It automatically advances from the Soak/Prewash cycle into the Whites cycle. You put diluted liquid detergent in the fabric softener dispenser.

The options control (second knob from left) used to control whether or not the end-of-cycle buzzer would sound, and if you wanted a 2nd rinse. Now it controls 2nd rinse and PowerPlus Clean options.

Just like the old Hotpoint/GE's, you can now have a 100-gallon wash cycle: Soak/Prewash, Wash, Extra Rinse.
