After removing the filter, still pretty clean underneath.

Glad that helped, This is why I never want another DW with a filter, my KDSS-20 worked quite well but it often started to smell from all the stuff left on the filter.
I did discover at one point that the little hole on the bottom of one of the wash arm spokes that is supposed to help rinse stuff off the outside of the filter was blocked, once I cleaned it it helped a lot in keeping some of the stuff off the filter.
I still have a KDS-16 and a KD5 portable in my homes that get used a few times a year each, but the 4 DWs I use on a regular basis are all WP Power-Clean machines.

Well now. This happened today. The pre-wash door on the detergent dispenser failed to open during a cycle. The main wash door operates correctly. I can open the pre-wash door manually, but I noticed it felt like the spring assembly was no longer engaged. So another thing I have to look into during this hyper busy period.

Remove the door front panel, check for a wire off the bimetal or other such problem.
