I know that my LG recirculates the water, but do any of the other front loaders do that? While I am not thrilled with the water level in my machine, I think that the strong recirculation spray does help it to get such good results.

The newest Frigidaire front-loaders (I have model 4474) recirculate. It has to; there's almost no water in the tub. It recirculates 3 or 4 times for about a minute each during the wash cycle, depending on the length. It recirculates for several minutes during each of the two rinses.

I was taken aback, initially, that there is almost no standing water in the tub, but I've come to terms with it. Everything comes out sparkling clean, so I'm happy. I've also found it does a better job of tumbling very small loads than my old Frigidaire, which used substantially more water. This machine will still do a complete lift-and-drop with very small loads. A mini load would just roll over and over on itself, or worse, just sit there bouncing in the water in my '02.
