Ok i have the chance to get the first generation of the GE Harmony washer and dryer... The dryer is dead... My co worker wants them out of her garage..She already replaced them with a new Bravos set (she said she couldnt have a set that didnt match, what if her guests walked in the laundry room) Anyway... She offered them free

I do not know anything about these things.. How do they work, any better than a standard ge, whats the harmony part???

I dont want the dryer (its gas and the only gas dryer allow here is my whirly)... SO will the washer be worthless? Ideas etc?

If I remember right, the Harmony set talks to each other. Set the washer and the dryer automatically sets itself for the load that's coming or something like that...

Correct

When you raise the lid at the end of the wash cycle, the washer wakes up the dryer and tells it what was just washed and how big the load was. The dryer sets itself up accordingly. A gimmicky feature that I eventually disabled as I always wanted something different, like lower heat settings.

The washer is pretty awesome, though. For the year I had mine, I liked it.

Hey Guy's T-Cub TAKE IT!!! This is another asian made washer lol .
I will get information for you on this washer and the Asko I have a lot information on the machines even a repair manual on the Harmony also Robert has this washer.
I have to step out today early so as soon as I can in the end of the week.
I am glad you like your Asko washer.
The harmony has lots of crazy cycles and a pulsator type of agitation I like the spin speed 1010 RPM.
PIC Robert Seger washer.

GE Harmony and

the vids...
I've seen vids where the washer fills up the tub completly. I thought that these vids where made of a machine where the automatic sensor was override to fill the machine up. Can someone show us how the harmony normally works? :) btw I love the styling of the machine... only they really should have made the worktop flat!

If I remember correctly this machine has the invisible impeller like my baby g-e that hooks to the kitchen sink - This machine in my opinion has incredible wash action .

A must have in my opinion.

I remember reading

somewhere that there is an option for the washer to fill all the way up! I could be wrong, but I remember someone talking about theirs on another forum.

Certain Cycles

Certain Cycles will fill the tub to the maximum fill.

1) Comforters/Blankets
2) Throw rugs

These are the two that jump out of memory.

The sneakers cycle is also impressive as it locks the impeller and basket together and performs like a large agi-tub.

Nope i am not getting them.. I couldnt really get pictures (shes wierd and doesnt want me taking pictures in her house) but she damaged the lcd screens and buttons with her claws.. Plus they where white, the washer was filthy and it wasnt worth my time

"she damaged the lcd screens and buttons with her claws.. Plus they where white, the washer was filthy"

Now that's just not cool. Now I can understand why the dryer is trying to commit suicide.

she has finger nails like no tommrow.. and some how the washer was working/... NO wonder her replacements didnt have rubber buttons

Long nails, long ago i had a hotel night auditor gig, I still remember the ladies working the phone system (RCA) with the eraser end of pencils.

I have one the Harmony washer but mine has the glass see through lid, which is a dream for guys that love to watch. Its the best washer we have ever had, that is a new green low water type.(I have not been able to find me a Jetcone 1-18 yet). Its so simple for the most part there is a P.W.M. perm-mag motor and no tranny or belt and the ease of fixing it if something goes wrong its like a Lego washer. There is a inverter in it that controls the motor and all that stuff is under the control panel that pops off.Its got a killer standard warranty about Ten years total and we got the extended one also..You can fill it all the way or let it do its own thing. It will wash like hell on Vig setting and my Favorite part is the Soak and wash which can go for 8 hours and the heating is something I use alot for my whites it does extend the time but the water is VERY HOT.We got a front loader first and it was TERRIBLE even on the longest wash 4 hours things didnt come clean. It didnt use enough water there would be no water dripping or anything when it would stop to reverse, now it worked alot better if I took 2 gallons and added it after after it started we loaded in the truck and demanded a refund or exchange. The standard time for mine is 50 mins and thats it and washes fine on that but I extend the spin of it then it takes about 20 mins to dry in the dryer.Ours has been great and its used ALOT and not one problem with it and we have had it for two years or so. I will make a Video and post it on here in a few days....
