Today, I did something crazy and took pix that are being developed now at Walgreens.
So much talk and interest in Calypsos lately, that I realized the GE's with ramp agitator can be made to work like a Calypso.
The guest towels weren't dirty, just needed a freshening, so in they went, three of them, white, textured (little rectangles), bath. Set the water level, not a low but at Mini, and WOW, the filter flowed in full over the ramps, the water splashed around the tub, the towels moved in perfect circles. It was really neat, and it worked. the ramp is gentler than the Calyptotator. I left the filter pan out of course.
Really into it, I let the tub fill up to max, because I wanted so see the spin drain unwrapped or revealed. So I clicked open the two tabs on the upper frame and pushed it back exposing the inner and outer tub. Very excited, I blocked off the wiry areas with pieces of plexiglas. Holding my breath, I reached around and pulled out the knob which had been preset to spin, and WHOA NELLY.
First the huge outer circular wall of water heaved up and down, like a volcanic warning, then up up up it sloshed. On the left the water came crashing back into the inner tub, but on the right it kept rising up against the plexiglas like a miniature tidal wave, then click, woo woo woo, darkness and silence. The circuit breaker popped. Obviously water got in some where. Every thing is fine; no damage, and when my friend Denny comes home, we're going to film it. It was very exciting. The pics won't do it justice, but you'll see a few pretty unusual shots.
