As well as the rest of the non "HE" detergents in my stash. The box of TWB, Tide Coldwater and others will be donated to either charity or taken over to MaMa's, but they are leaving her that is for sure. Will keep the Wisk Power Scoop unscented detergent as it is reasonably low sudsing and NLA.

Quite frankly have found my Miele gives much better results without all the foam that non-HE detergents cause.Even when there is little foam in the wash, spins bring out froth that can slow spins down long enough to give poor results. Also find that when using "HE" detergents such as Persil or the Pro-Line Tide rinsing is much faster and cleaner. Between spins go as they should as the machine only has to pump water, and not froth.

Case in point, Friday night did 10lbs of thick and thirsty bath towels of assorted sizes. My Miele is rated for about 5 kilos, so this was pretty much a max load. Normally when doing thick items tend to underload the machine to help with rinsing. Well used some Tide "Pro-line" which is low sudsing and a bit of oxygen bleach (Ecover), and there was absolutely no sudsing during the wash. The only sounds was the sloshing about of towels and water. First and second drain water while "cloudy" with a bit of foam, was nothing like when one uses non-HE detergents. The first long spin did take a while to ramp up to speed as all that water was spun out (hey they were thick and thirsty towels after all), but the Miele soon made short work of the excess water and the pump satisfied it could go on, allowed the machine to get up to speed. Final rinse water was clear and the water spun out during the final spin was clear. Results? Nice clean laundry without all the palaver of extra rinses.

Still have lots of the Ecover phosphate detergent, and mainly use that for washing stuff around the house. Ot works a treat on window screens, and the electrostatic plates from the air cleaner. Other than that, it too probably will get passed on or at least see limited use since it tends to cause frothing if not doses very carefully.

Laundress, your valued opinion

Laundress,
Tide with Bleach has been my Favorite for years, but in my front loader it creates excess foam as well. I had the dosage down so low (still with foaming issues) that I felt things were not going to get clean, so I gave up. The same is true of all other non-HE detergents...at least in my experience. Everything I read about the front load wash action says suds/foam retard the wash action and produce poor cleaning results. I like the results I achieve with powders and have used Tide HE Powder, but as of late I have resorted to liquids (Gain HE and Wisk HE) just to mix it up a little. They seem to clean rather well, but the clothes don't feel the same as when washed in powders.
I found "Concentrated ALL" powder in the 50lb bag online, but am not sure if it will oversuds. At $55 a bag plus $25 shipping fee that is a quite a risk. Do you have any experience with it or other low suds brands other that Persil or Tide?
