I think we had the same stove growing up. Your description sounds exactly like ours. My Mother still has it in her basement kitchen. The next time I am home I'll have to take some photos of it. It is in really good shape and still gets a lot of use. Don't all Italians have a second kitchen in their basement? LOL.

Pyrolytic (high heat) self cleaning came out in the 1964 model year. Or, at least, that is when I remember it. I might be incorrect, and if I am, I would be glad to be properly informed.

So, when did Hotpoint become GE's "value" brand? Some here have called Hotpoint the "Cadillac" of GE's brands, but I always thought that it was the value brand? Last two apartments were 100% Hotpoint equipped. Worked well and the coil range was very good for an electric, but I would hardly call the ones I had delux.
