Or, as our British friends would call it, the TIP!! Interestingly enough, there's a sign there informing residents of the cost to dispose of what they dump, in an attempt to get them to recysle. They tell us that the "tipping fee" has gone up to $X a ton!!

Anyway, back to why we love it. On one of Rich's trips yesterday he came home with a box full of stuff someone had just brought into the swap shop. For those who don't have such a thing, that's where people put things that are still useful. They just don't want them anymore.

New in box, a set of 4!

A Tur Max fully-automatic, electronic espresso machine! It's 220 so we haven't tested it. I'll have a power converter soon to try it out.

People in this town throw out the best stuff, as Ron can attest to 'cause he's scored some stuff there as well!

In our town...

people have more money than brains. Southboro is a bedroomtown that hides in plain sight. We have many multi-million dollar homes and the people just get rid of stuff that they don't want. Yes, they do have estate sales (pro run) and I have gone to a few but what you find is dining room tables (table only) for $4500. Orig price...$10,000.

A couple of years back there was a brand new Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher that was brand new with paper work just thrown away. I couldn't get back with a truck fast enough...It got CRUSHED!!!

I have pulled ot several Bose speakers as well as an entire Bang & Olufsen sound system (belt broken on the cassette deck).

I could go on but you get the picture :-)

The items that are shown above were unwanted wedding gifts. The tags were still inside!

Can't keep it all.

LOL.

TAP TAP TAP. And WHY do we not have a storefront or a website to sell this stuff for major money?

GREAT CATCHES!

Steve,

It's called eBay! That is, if we ever find something that won't be useful somewhere in the house! IIRC, we have 2 air conditioners that came from the TS that work just fine!

Seriously, we have sold some stuff from the TS. For example, a set of 4 leather-bound Black's Law books from 1829, a tangerine iMac computer, various stereo componets, and lots of stuff that went into yard sale boxes. Why not? Can't ignore free money!
