Ralph and I love our meatloaf and are always experimenting with different variations. This is one of our favorites - a Greek-style meatloaf that includes fresh mint, kalamata olives, feta cheese, cinnamon and tomatoes.
I follow the Blood Type Diet. As a type O+ I am not supposed to eat pork. Have you ever tried this with ground Lamb? I could substitute the Milk and crackers with items that are compliant to my diet. So I may just try this with the Lamb instead of the Pork.
I am thinking a 90/10 Angus ground beef and ground lamb. What are your thoughts? Your video has made me very hungry now for meatloaf even though it's about 90 degrees and very humid outside today.
I think using ground lamb instead of ground pork will make the meatloaf even more Greek-style! I also think it would be very tasty! If you don't care to use milk, change it out with another liquid (you could even use a little broth if you wanted) but it will help keep the mixture moist and help to bind it all together.
Meatloaf isn't usually thought of as a dish for warm weather, but to me a good meatloaf is a treat anytime! Hope yours turns out well!
Im a meatloafaholic too!! One of the things I never tire of, I will send you a few of my meatloaf recipes you might like to try, im sure going to make this one, great to see you back on here...hope you can come South and visit one of these days....The meatloaf I make as a rule is the one in the Betty Feezor cookbook.
I am a lover of meatloaf also. If you have any leftovers they make a great sandwich also. One of my favorite leftovers is to slice it about 3/4 of an inch and put it on the barbeque for a few minutes on each side. The flavor is incredible.

Great to hear from both of you again! I love meatloaf as well, and love to make it.
I usually use what ever AI have left over in the fridge. I have made a greek version with lamb, but also add lemon juice, as the citrus really melds well with the lamb, and mint. I loved seeing you, and hearing from Ralph, and always hearing your wonderful musical selections in the background. Keep the video's coming.
Hugs,
David
I have been thinking about this Greek Meatloaf since I watched the video so I had to make it despite how warm it is outside. Sometimes you just have to turn down the A/C and ignore what's going on outside. LOL
I substituted the Lamb for the Pork. I substituted Vegetable broth for the milk because I don't do dairy. I suspect any broth would work but I had that in the house. I can't do the saltines so I used seasoned breadcrumbs I make out of spelt flour bread. I baked it to 170 because of all the ground beef weirdness. It took a little over an hour.
It is really, really good. I do like the suggestion to add some Lemon Juice. I'll do that next time. I did spray the pan but I didn't line it. You know anytime I can contribute to a dirty Bob Load in the 20 I'm all over it!
Kevin,
That looks fantastic and I can't wait to give it a try, I love meatloaf of any kind. I should send you my recipe for "deli style" meat loaf. Its a meatloaf that is rolled out jelly roll style and filled with corned beef, saurkraut, and Swiss cheese,...its SICK!!
I want to come over for your lamb meatloaf!! That looks so good - and I'm going to put some lamb in the next one I make...love the idea of lemon juice, too. I see you can't do dairy, but you were able to use the feta...are you ok with goat milk products? Looks like it came out beautifully!! Hopefully you had leftovers for sandwiches!! Thanks for sharing your version!
