Haier 3.5 cu ft Freezer-Cooling Setting?

Hi,

I recently purchased a Haier 3.5 cu ft Chest Freezer.

I am using it to store Swedish Snus.

What is the best Cooling setting to use? I goes from 1-7.
I started at 4 to begin with as instructed. I then tried
the coolest setting 7. It does seem to reach -20 when at
it's coldest in the cycle. I now have set it to 6. I think
it reaches about 10 below.

I can't tell if the run cycle is on less or not on 6 rather than 7.

What is the most efficient setting for my Snus?

Snus or no snus the rule of thumb here for long term storage is 0deg F or minus 20 deg C. If your freezer is at minus 20 deg F that would be too cold and wasting energy. Do you have a thermometer you can use to confim?

Yes. I have a fridge/freezer thermometer.

It seems to go down to 20 below F on the coldest 7 setting
and 10 below on setting 6. Is it normal for it to go up to zero degrees F on setting 7 and possibly higher on setting 6 just before the cooling motor kicks in again? I'm assuming this is when it's at it's warming temperature. How much should the temperature fluctuate from coldest of the cooling cycle to warmest?

I had read somewhere online and heard from a friend that 20 degrees F below is best for deep freeze? Is this true? Or just for possibly meat and such? It said warmer was only if you want you ice cream soft.

The setting goes from 1-7 with 4 being the recommended starting position. I don't want to waste energy or hear it
run more than I have to.

I thought I'd ask you all. I haven't dropped in in awhile since this forum showed me how to fix the soap doors on a dishwasher and the pump for my fridge's water dispenser.

I don't smoke nor chew, but do you want to freeze this stuff or to keep it fresh as long as possible?

Since it is refrigerated before being shipped I would set the freezer at the warmest setting either 1 or 2 to save energy and put those bad boys in the basket.

How to keep snus fresh:
The shelf life of snus depends on a number of factors i.e. the water content. A lower moisture level results in a longer shelf life. Moist snus has a limited shelf life and should not be kept in room temperature for more that a couple of weeks. Dry portion packs, however, do not have this limitation.
The general recommendation is to keep moist snus refrigerated. The snus will then be very stable and can be kept for several weeks.
To keep snus for a longer period it should be frozen and you can keep it for at least a year. To avoid frozen snus from drying out you should freeze it in a freezing bag. Thawing of snus in cardboard cans should be done in a refrigerator, thus eliminating the condensation water to dissolve the glue in the can. Plastic cans are not sensitive to external moisture and can be thawed in room temperature.

Note: Double the freezer bag and press all the air out before storing.

I am planning on freezing it for over a year. I quit cigs 51 days ago with snus. We snusers stocked up as The PACT ACT goes into effect at the end of the month.

I did not double bag the cans but I did use the Ziploc Vacuum Bags.

Is it normal for the temperature to fluctuate 10-20 degrees
