Lowes has started carrying the Haier RWT350AW top load agitator washer and the companion dryers, gas and electric. This machine has been out since August 2008, but until recently, I had never seen one; then Brandsmart started carrying them. Now Lowes does too. Are they gaining in popularity?
They appear to have many nice features -- multiple wash speeds; fabric softener and bleach dispensers and a stainless steel tub. The agitator column is hollow and can be used as a detergent dispenser. The manual states you can leave the lid open while the washer fills with water.
One thing I don't get is the price disparity: Brandsmart asks $298.88. Lowes wants $504.00. At the Brandsmart price, the washer's a great buy.
