So things at work have been rather grim. The mortgage business is in some dire straits, and about 50 people have been let go since August.
So to boost morale(?) the powers that be decided there should be a Halloween decorating contest. We've been working around this crap for a month now...
Here are the pics, I've never been much for Halloween in the first place, but this is insane.
First is the view of the office as you round the corner back to where my team works

our theme is

Haunted OZ... which involves a bloodied yellow brick road.

When they first suggested this thread I knew where they were going, and I told them I would help wherever, but I absolutely REFUSED to wear red pumps(at work all day)

very glad I'm not in this department

where I'd have to spend my days in the presence of a large "kitty"(with teeth no less!)
Even worse would be having to walk thru the kitty to get to my desk!

and finally

my desk.. unpolluted by any Halloween stuff
I am kinda hoping they will decorate for Christmas as much... just so long as its not NEXT WEEK!!

Jeff, I hate to say it, but your managers are in for yet another double whammy if a sudden, unannounced fire inspection were to take place...

Luckily, my workplace wasn't so gaily decorated,

Or decorated at all. However, I too have dog pictures lining the divider next to my workbench.

Aww! Puppies!

fire marshall

Yikes, I am sure nobody thought of that!! The cob webby things are so thick you can't see across the room!
Also for a company thats supposed to be cutting costs, I wonder what the electric cost is for all the blow up stuff?

The puppy pics are of Jack. There's also a pic of Me & Michael from last January, and one of the group at Fred Nelson's a few years back.

The Qantas 747(City of Melbourne I believe) was a gift from my friend John Grieve who lives in Sydney. I think he wants me to come to Australia!

TWO monitors per desk? What gives?

Well Toggs, I've been here long enough to have been thru 4 computers now(currently using number 4) The two monitor system has been around for almost 2 years now, they were put into use when we went to the "paperless" virtual loan file system. In the old days a loan was first processed at the branch and then the physical file was shipped here via FEDX where it went thru underwriting and eventually funding. With the virtual system its all on computer, and the various departments that handle the files(branch, underwriting and funding) all have access. Whats nice is I can locate what I need to see in the file in a few clicks, and not have to fumble and fight with a paper file that could sometimes be 2 inches thick! With two monitors I have my usual programs running on one screen(the left one)and on the right is my file screen. It took some getting used to, but I really like it now!
